Mouse input resets when switching to headlook

This is using the mouse and keyboard.

I press ALT to look at something and the game resets my ships flight path to fly straight.

I know it never used to be like this and would hold your maneuver while you could also look around your ship.

Can any mouse and keyboard user tell me if there is an option to enable this again, or has it been taken out of the game altogether?

Having my ship start flying straight while using head look in a dogfight stops me being able to use it.

I always considered this a feature. I rather prefer my ship to move in a straight line (or not pitch or roll around) when I am looking around, plus I can also use the mouse headlook key as a fast "reset mouse pitch+roll" key. I would hate it if FD changed its behaviour.

Would dearly love an option to allow headlook to keep the mouse directional settings. It's a major disadvantage when in a turning battle and trying to keep a mark one eyeball on the target for non track IR / Rift users with mouse. Using the side panel buttons strangely does keep the directional settings though.

Annoying, but not too major overall given how excellent the radar system is. Can't think of a better implementation in any space game since it was first used in 84, and has been copied by many.
