Mouse Scroll through UI way too slow

I have an issue where I can't properly use my mouse wheel to scroll through UI (main menu or build menu).

I thought it wasn't implemented at first so I always had to drag the little bar on the right to go down the menu. Then when I started to continuously pull back on my scroll wheel, I saw movement down in the ui but it was very janky and slow to the point that it's not a good way to navigate down menus. Is there a setting I need to change or is there something wrong with my installation?

Thanks :p

I don't think the mouse wheel is intended to be the main scroll method in the PC UI. I gave up on it long ago and have gotten in the habit of dragging the scroll bars, like back in the days before mouse wheels.

Overall, the mouse wheel is pretty clunky in PC generally. I find that just trying to zoom the view slightly in or out, I often end up miles away from my park and have to go searching for it to get the camera back within the park boundaries at all, let alone anywhere near the specific location I was trying to look at.

I had the very same issue as you, but I noticed after watching other users on YouTube that they would scroll through the UI using the mouse wheel.

It turned out that my mouse didn't work with PCs menus... strange I know! Worked fine with everything in Windows - So, I plugged in the mouse my Mum uses, and it worked flawlessly- So, I bought a new mouse on Amazon for £7.99! Sorted

I recommend testing it out with another mouse you may have lying about, or try a friends out.

You can get mice with scroll wheels that can toggle between free wheeling and notched movement. When its free wheeling you can give the scroll wheel a flick and it will spin for ages allowing you to scroll huge distances with little effort. Press a button and it reverts to notched movement for times when you want to scroll one notch at a time. I found that I rarely use the notched movement mode at all.

As for the issue in PC I noticed that scrolling through a long list of staff is very slow, but the scenery items seem at a reasonable speed for me.

I love my free wheeling scroll wheel! They should come as standard.

It's nothing special but this is my mouse

Well thanks for the replies everybody, it appears to be the mouse I'm using? Which is a shame really because the scroll works in literally every game I can think of apart from the menus in planet coaster. I hope this gets fixed but until then I guess I'll manually navigate through the menus rather than using my scroll wheel. Oh well [wacky]
