Moved to PC from Xbox

Hello all, I moved over to PC a little while ago over from Xbox (my pc is now up to spec) and as much as I'm enjoying Elite more now I'm on PC I do miss my friends list and the many players I've met over the years on xbox. So anyone looking for a new squad member or wanting to wing up for anything add me, my CMDR name is NIGHT-VAPER (UK GMT)
I'm a regular player and have over 4000hrs in game, my GT on xbox was KNiGHTspade 17

you cannot transfer anything
Well, except for credits, but not sure you want to do that.

If you file a support request for transfer, they will do a one time transfer operation moving the total assets value in credits from XB to PC, they they will delete your XB account
So only credits get transferred - nothing else. No ranks, no materials, no cosmetics, nothing bar the assets value in credits.

So imo, it is way better to simply start over while keeping your XB account. No loss to keep it, lots of loses to move it to PC

I know, I dont know how I feel about losing many thousands of hours played on my xbox account, I'm aware that ranks and the such will be lost, that doesn't bother me as I'm up to the same point i was on xbox with regards to ships and engineering on my pc account, it's more the asset balance I'd be interested in as I really really want a fleet carrier but dont have the time like I used to to grind out the 8+ billion credits needed to purchase an FC so the trade off for me seems worth it to some extent. I dont think I'll be going back to consoles anytime soon so I might just do it and not look back (meybe some screenshots of my xbox achievements and codex entries might settle my loss)

It is a shame that you still cannot play accross platforms. Other games have overcome such restrictions. Bad enough that you need to start fresh after changing the platform, but no communication and gaming with your friends from the old platform sucks.

Interesting... Is this possible? If I buy a carrier on my xbox account how would I facilitate the transfer of funds to my pc account?
I've not been able to afford a carrier yet on my pc account yet and was going to do the one time asset transfer thing to buy one but having already put 200hrs into my pc account I fear I would have to start again in a sidey once the transfer is complete so doing it this way would be better

whatever you do, don't do a one time asset transfer, it'll wipe away your xbox progress! any why not keep it just in case you ever decide to go back or just to have two commanders like me? I have an xbox and pc cmdr

Get a carrier, or a friend with a carrier who has some LTDs. Set up a sell order on the carrier for the LTDs for the bottom price. Buy the LTDs with your PC cmdr. Then set up a purchase order on the carrier at the high price. Sell the LTDs from your PC cmdr to the carrier.

If you can get enough from your xbox to get a carrier this way, get a carrier, decommission the carrier on the xbox and get the money back, and then buy/sell in reverse to your PC cmdr and get the rest of the credits

It works with every pricey commodity. Go on your PC account buy/get stuff, preferably something with a very big average price.
Platinum might do, think the average is 100k per ton now. No need for big quantity - the maximum of your PC ship cargo capacity would do.
For 100k average price, minimum sell price would be 5k, maximum buy price would be 1 million.

So, if you have some credits on your PC account, you buy the preferred commodity using the PC account, then dock at the carrier then set Docking permission to none.
Then set on XB a buy order for maximum price. Your PC account sells that that. Then on XB stop the buy order and put the same commodity to Sale - this time for minimum price. Buy back with the PC account.
Repeat until you transferred enough credits

If you dont have enough credits on PC, start the thing using the XB account.
It works even with the starter sidey money, tho it takes longer :)

I've been doing a ton of CMDR resets recently and I mostly:

1) Take the starter mission for 10k - complete that
2) Outfit the Sidey with all cargo - 12T or so
3) Fly to my FC just outside the n00bzone - Ehecatl has good outfitting
4) Trade Scrap , then something like Insulating Membrane, then Thargoid Probes and Sensors 😈
5) Now you have enough for a Python / Krait / 'Conda and do bulk trade using Tritium (or other high value goods if you have them).

Lovely. Usually have a workable ship in 30 minutes.

If you got xbox friends, dont move. Well, maybe. All of my friends on the xbox have moved on to other games. And i made the transition to PC (took the money) and im loving it. The pc community is huge compared to the xbox.

I don't understand why Frontier still after all this time with a game present in all major platforms could not do cross play.

No matter how big is the comunity p/platform of course that without frontier effort to make this happen this game will be reserved more for PC.

I don't agree , and in part understand the move of the account this way otherwise no one or almost no one would be playing in consoles.

But I don't get the lack of cross platform , as this would increase the community for sure.

I am still hoping that after odyssey comes up they can dedicate a team to implement the crossplay has imho his would bring the game to a state that multiple gamers and communities together would even spread more.

Otherwise what will happen is just that after some time playerbase of console will just be giving up on this game.

Hope really that frontier starts to consider this seriouslly. From me either I will just keep playing until I get bored or just give up on the game ,currently on XBOx the main thing that drives to continue it's that I can get quarrel to be able to discord with my friend that are almost all in PC , and I am not going to strat over a new account on pc and repeat all over again because I am not that mad !

Why?
I play on XBox beacuse i'm a couch potato but others may play for various reasons - and the new consoles are damn powerful for their price.
Eventually i got the game on PC too because i wanted to have the option to play on the go (i have a gaming laptop, a medium one with a gtx1660ti) and it was damn cheap.

Well me personally I have a new XBOX series X , but the main reason I don't play on PC , is because I personally use PCs all day and feels good for me move from that environment for a while.

Although I absolutely love the game and play a lot solo , I do have some friends that okay regularly on PC, and we mek things together in BGS etc, but when it comes to having a lot of fun I think it's when is shared with friends , problem starts here . Simply cannot do it here from XBox .

I see you are brave to have 2 accounts and grind for all the 2 accounts is 2 different playeforms. 😁

Me personally I don't have the time for that though .

So for me personally either the move of the account should be possible to move all assets and stats , livery , materials , etc... Or like I said the crossplatform should be implemented!
