I have lots of fun modules that I'd like to swap into other ships, but how do you do that, and do it safely?

Is it just a case of selling a module, swapping to a suitable ship (in the same station in the same session) and using buyback?

Are there any things I should be aware of?

There's no 100% safe way of transferring modules and FD won't supply you with a replacement 60 LY range FSD (if only ;)) but I've transferred a fair number with no issues I'd suggest being in solo mode first before you move any modules.

I usually replace the module in the ship I want to move the engineered one to with a lower grade one (e.g. 4 to 3) then sell/replace the engineered one in the same way, swap ships and re-buy the engineered on (it'll have the engineer nut symbol).
If you get dropped from the server during the process well the modules gone I'm afraid so pick a time when have a secure connection and best of luck!
