I know this is wandering way off into the weeds, but sometimes thinking outside the box is fun...
Here's the idea described for two player:
Each player has a park entrance and owns a small piece of land. The entrances are at opposite sides of the map. The area between the entrances is available for sale. Land can only be purchased adjacent to land already owned.
After a fixed, but configurable period of time, the player with the higher park value wins. All game options can be configured - amount of starting land owned, security features on or off, available loans, etc.
Perhaps spice it up by allowing only one coaster or ride of a type to be built. If you build a mouse coaster, I can't.
So there is the game element resembling "Go", where players might buy land to block the opponent. There is a game element of efficient management. There is a game element of building a blueprint library of cost-efficient, overpowered coasters.
I think this could be fun.
