Multi-player

I think it would be awesome if we could build a park togetter like a multiplayer park maybe a park that you could manage with 2 people or something like that.

what do you guys think ?

Greatz sjonnielord

I agree, having the option of 2 people or more working on the same park from different comuputers & locations would be great. No recent games done it, and instead of sharing something you created with someone, you get to create something new with them. The reasons why I hate multiplayer options of games like Simcity and The Sims 4 is because they're not really multiplayer, you still feel like you are doing things on your own. It will be a huge disappointment if the multiplayer option will be included without it, because we know Planet Coaster takes things to the next level.

There has been quite a number of other posts requesting this feature similar to OpenRCT2.

If devs are watching this, please, consider doing it. Personally, I would only buy this game if there's going to be co-op in the game since I usually play these games with my wife.

Same system as OpenRCT2 or OpenTTD. Nothing advanced.

Not a big fan of the multiplayer idea...in my opinion I can't see it work in such a game lIke planet coaster. Open RCT had this feature and I personally think it's a mess (even though it's still in alpha).

Other players I play with either demolish what I've already built or build stuff that I would prefer them not to.

At the same time, I can see if implemented correctly multiplayer can work. But still not a fan

I'd say "Co Op" would be best saved for a possible Stand alone Resort expansion... (Where one player manages the resort that the park guests stay at, while the other manages the Theme-park itself and both can communicate with one another and visit each others properties in first person to better the service/income of their respective properties...)

Possibly with the Theme park being visible from the resort complex and visa versa...

that would not be fun IMO i dont want to manage a resort next to a theme park... if i want to just watch somebody play I'll turn on a twitch stream

I think OpenRCT is awesome, sure if somebody joins your game that you don't want in your game, then they can ruin your park. but thats why they should offer private/closed game settings where you only invite a friend. if your playing with strangers thats the challenge you face, but its just as an option for those who want it. if you dont like it then you can stay single player

Personally this game would be sooooooooo much better if it was co-op or AT LEAST allow us to walk around parks and ride rides ONLINE WITH FRIENDS

That is why when you play multiplayer ya should play it with someone you know. that way you know he/she wont destroy youre things. Or else they will get a whooping [yesnod][big grin]

So you don't think that building and managing a resort and spa next to someone else's theme park would be just as fun as building a theme park?

my exact words from my previous comment:

RE-Explained:
if co-op play is allowed, and i want to play with a friend, i want to play WITH my friend, not NEXT to them. I want my "novice" friend who has no experience to beable to create his own coaster WHILE i place a cool structure around it. So that I can teach him, and we can WORK TOGETHER... not side by side.

I have no interest in playing Planet Resort and Spa Tycoon. If you want to build a Spa and Resort, then you can do that.

Are you trolling?? [uhh]

I can literally see this happening and would find it very frustrating, so I have to disagree with the majority and say that this would definitely not interest me!

OpenRCT is a user created mod, and its actually amazing how well it works! [up]

what if you could host a private game and invite only your friends?? multiplayer is really fun to play with a friend? who would say no to that. I understand if a random stranger destroys your park, but if you want to take your park seriously, you still have single player. its funny how people are afraid of multiplayer "chaos" its just an option, you don't have to play it that way.

Personally, I want to have my friend (who is not experienced at playing these games) I want him to build a coaster while I build a sick building around it, and then we can ride it together! LoL it would make the game feel so much more alive, interactive, and it would make my friend (who is all about multiplayer) feel like he is participating in the game WITH me, rather than just showing each other our creations. It is 2016 after all

I would since my friends are not interested in video games.

that doesn't sound like a valid reason to not add multiplayer to this incredible gaming experience, so that others can share it with their friends [tongue] IMO

It is also possible to find random strangers online to share in your experience, who are cool and fun to play/build with too! Its a great way to learn and improve your own abilities, just like in pretty much any game.

I just said for me I would not be interested, but to each his own.

I have no interest in co-op/multiplayer either but I would like an easy way to share save files. With the details of PC I do like the idea of loading someone elses park and looking at the details.

Isn't Frontier working on a community share program that will allow us to share our custom builds and parks with others to upload into their game? Couldn't the same process of multi-player work that way, since a lot of builders are good friends to each other? Say, you speak to a couple of people who want to build a group park project. Instead of multi-player, that group talk about who is going to work on what. So person #1 works on the front park entrance, saves, and shares the park and what they created to person #2, then they work on the 1st themed area, share, then person #3 does the 2nd themed area. The process repeats itself until the park is completely finished and then everyone who worked on the group project took credit for what they contributed.

I personally am not a fan of multi-player, but just because I don't like it doesn't mean it shouldn't be in the game... I just would never use that feature. Played multi player with Simcity 2013 and Minecraft and people would just either alter something I worked hard on, or completely destroy it and type "HaHa". It's not cute or funny when you put a lot of hard work into creating something just for someone else to alter it or destroy it.

Vampire, I want to play with friends/family who are not experienced at the game, people who may have enjoyed classic RCT1 more than RCT3. I want to have somebody build their own coaster, while I build the scenery around it showing them how to do certain things, and my friends can mess around and tweak what they want as we go along together. It makes the game feel less "sheltered". Its not the same thing as sharing a completed park or allowing somebody to take turns going back and forth between who does what. I also want to both be able to walk around the park and ride the rides together.
