Multi-role complex coop scenarios

Thinking about the various player-to-player mechanics (comms, docking, transferring), and the general game mechanics, it feels like there's ample opportunity to create some interesting and complex coop behaviour from it.

Scenario 1:
3 players work together, one Lakon doing continuous mining. Strong shields, so even if someone attacks, it can be largely ignored. Why? Because it has an Eagle as bodyguard, attacking anything that is hostile. At the same time a Cobra is flying shuttle between the Lakon and a space station, with the mined material. Ship-to-ship docking is used to transfer material from Lakon to Cobra for the run to the station. Cobra is easier to dock, can handle interdictions better, faster, etc. So, using the strengths of each ship along with coop mechanics, you can build a custom way to play.

Scenario 2:
4 players work together, with 3 players in Cobras doing continuous mining, and one Lakon running material to the space station. Cobras can handle themselves, so no need for bodyguard. When Lakon arrives in mining site the Cobras offload to it. Lakon has massive storage, so each run can take more than the Cobra in the previous scenario. The Lakon might be equipped well enough that it can handle interdictions, and the skill of the pilot (or docking computer) makes the docking part manageable.

Scenario 3:
<your awesome idea goes here>

Seems like there could be tons of variations on the theme here, based on the same basic game mechanics. Modify above for piracy, bounty hunting and what have you. Once you add coop to the mix you can build up some fairly interesting things on top, much as I assume happens in EVE.

Exciting indeed :)

I really hope this kind of thing will be possible, but I see no reason why it wouldn't be.

I think this kind of cooperation, and player companies/groups are necessary for the game to survive in the long run, now that they've made it a "kindaMMO" in the first place.
