multicrew gunner can't shoot

My wife has her controls setup for multicrew but when we check out our gun groups, all she has to use is the kill warrent scanner. We have tried everything so she can pew pew but we have had no luck. What are we missing?

As others have said-make sure you have turret and/or missile weapons on your ship, & make certain that she has her multi-crew gunner settings set up under Control Options (Main Menu). This latter one was the problem I had the first time I did Multi-Crew.

The groups are red and un-assignable by the mc. Even restarts don't fix the issue?
