So, after Multicrew went online,
and my friend finally managed to work out how to control turrets as my Gunner,
I could finally test if mining in multicrew would have the same output as it would in a wing.
the answer:
NO.
as it is,
fitting turreted ming lasers, or even having a crew member on board has only NEAGTIVE impact on the whole mining experience.
My suggestion for at least a tiny bit of improvement here,
and for multicrew alltogether:
give the helm a tab like the firegroup tab, that allows him to delegate what role the gunner can have, including "allow to deploy weapons" and "allow to deploy SLF"

- Turreted mining lasers without crew can only be used if turrets are set to "forward only". this is cumbersome if you have combat turrets for defense [knocked out]
- limpet control is transfered to gunner, even for the forward-only prospector limpets [knocked out]
- cargo hatch and refinery bin control is bound to helm only, so the most tedious job cannot be delegated to a crewmember [knocked out]
- and now the worst:
the content of an asteroid is usually the same for every player - and also instanced for every player.
which means, if player A prospects a rock and mines it empty,
player B can still mine the same amount again,
player C can still mine the same amount
and for all the content respawns in 2 hours.
if they are in a wing, it only requires one prospector drone, if not, they all have to shoot their own prospector into the rock.
In Multicrew, the amount mined is limited to one load. - reward share is limited to 5% trading bonds, same as in wings. Mining Mission payout share is zero.
- there is no mining SLF
- mined materials cannot be delegated to crewmembers if the helms 1000 unit limit is full
My suggestion for at least a tiny bit of improvement here,
- adding a taipan with mining lasers (or mining lance)
- allow to delegate materials to crew
- add at least a 50% multiplier to mining yield per gunner crew is onboard.
- give option to have limpets open the cargo hatch on return automatically
