Horizons Multicrew?

Maybe it´s just me, but I find suspiciously few posts about multicrew? Bad sign, I´d say.

I tried a few sessions and I quite liked being part of a ship crew. There is this new Star Trek Bridge Commander game and I hoped to a have a little bit of this. Sadly, the multicrew feature is a bit disappointing.

My client crashes sometimes and the sessions seem to be very unstable; the game drops me out of a session very often.

The amount of participation as a multicrew member is way too little. Fighters, one pip, and maybe some turrets (which most players sadly don´t want to hand over).

However, if the multicrew feature is so underused as I suspect, I have little hope that Frontier will spend resources to improve and expand this barebone implementation.

Edit: Ah, nevermind, here is already a thread about it:

I multi crewed twice today...one time I lost connection and the second time got stuck jumping out of a system and had to restart the game.
Now there are no ships available.

I really would like to say something positive about multi crew besides that it produces nice screenshots.

When all "multicrew" is is just swiveling an external camera and nothing else do you really blame people for not talking about it?

Multicrew needs far more. The ability to run missions together, access to SRV's, and copilot functions. For example, I would love to have a copilot who can manage hyperspace routes and investigate trade routes while I'm scooping/scanning or busy with the commodities market.

Yes, +1

I spend hour flying my ship to support fighter and player having fun with. I think i pet every bug possible and there is a lot. I don't do it anymore, so don't play ED anymore. This feature is broken, unreliable at the end.

Yeah. It would be good to see multicrew extend over time though I still think the feature is important for the game architecture, as much as for 2.3 / 2.4 gameplay. I'd like to see holo-crew stay but for me it would be cool if you got a bonus (of more things to do) by meeting at the same space station and physically crewing, if you see what I mean. Whether or not it gets played much at this stage, I'm still really glad it was added when it was and I'm sure it paves the way for greater things.

I struggle with it a bit myself playing as I do on an naughtily (ridiculously) underspec laptop. As such the fighter role is OK but having the ship rendered in the foreground kills my FPS. I would really like an option to push the view camera forward, to take the ship out of view, partly for my FPS and partly as it gives a purer gunnery view. A matter of taste that is, though.

Multi-Crew was simply a method to get players together probably more about texting and voice comms versus serious gameplay. No Edward Lewis Live Stream has ever explored it's possibilities. The guy always flies a Sidewinder looking for a manual landing! Meanwhile in my combat Corvette with two fighters I had two live players 'crew' trying to shoot me. They couldn't make a dent but then that defeats the abilities of what Multi-Crew could be. Put a crew together with live players taking on all comers with the primary ship having enginerred weapons and it could be very hard to defeat versus Open mode pilots. NPC pilots would be boring but worth using them for training.

Might I suggest a few Google and YouTube videos to see how Multi-Crew can be extremely effective.
