Multiplayer aspect

Hi there everyone!

So a while ago i posted a thread about the multiplayer aspect of the game, now im thinking its better to get it over to the discussion part of the forum. The thing is we've all these years played singleplayer, im curious if we can do this multiplayer. Thats why i've made a thread on the ideas part of the forum, but thought about it to do it aswell in the discussion thread. Im just asking for you all, how everyone thinks about this idea or speculation.

The link to thread with more details about my idea and vision.

I'm really in split minds about multiplayer in a game like this. On the one hand I love the concept of being able to build parks with friends but on the other hand I wonder how you'd actually implement multiplayer well without it feeling clunky and annoying to use. I quite liked an idea that was bought up in the suggestions and ideas forums about being able to visit other peoples parks in first person perspective. For me that would be the multiplayer experience I'd love to see.

Sharing rollercoaster designs/attractions and complete 'buildings' and parks with the world...should be enough for me...

I always have this feeling that these games aren't just suited for extensive multiplayer stuff.
It feels like uhmmm: making a sandcastle on the beach on your own, some kid wants to join in and ruin the complete idea you had in your own mind/imagination...even worse demolish something! You let him join in...just uhmm, to be nice...

...but oh well, maybe that's just me being (as a small kid) anti-social en selfish! Or autistic and perfectionistic me...you choose! [noob]

I would Love some kind of coop mode. I love games like minecraft and ark survival evolved where I can be creative with my friends. It would be a dream come true to be able to start a sandbox park with my friends and together build a beautiful park. [big grin][big grin][big grin][heart]

^^ I don't necessarily agree with you on that one.

OpenRCT2 is total conversion mod for RCT2, and one of the main features is Multiplayer. I must say, it's absolutely incredible to use. If you play with a good friend (which should be the only purpose of MP in this case) you both have the ability to put minds together and make something great. Me and a friend have filled up entire maps with elaborate parks through OpenRCT2, and we discuss daily on how awesome it'd be for PC.

On top of that, there's many multiplayer servers for OpenRCT2 and it's surprising to see that it's something a lot of people are interested in despite it being an old game. What I mean is it has a good amount of popularity even though it was made so long ago. So then you imagine "If it's gathering this kind of attention for such a old (and underrated) game, then what's the chances for a newer generation of the same game?" Well, in all honesty it would probably explode. With the vast freedom of PC and great gameplay it has to offer, you would think that Multiplayer would become the next big thing. And with that, I have my fingers crossed in hopes for Multiplayer considering how great it can actually be.

I have to second chris0matic. After playing around with multiplayer on openrct2, I can easily say that multiplayer in a park management game can work great and be tons of fun. I'm not worried in the slightest about how it will work out, as long as it stays at least remotely similar to openrct.

Thats what i thought aswell, i prupose it because nothing has been mentioned yet about multiplayer. It will be so awesome if we can make it like OpenRCT2, i think it will be the next generation multiplayer park building. I hope that frontier will take a look at this!
