Multiplayer/co-op?

Hello people,

probably this has been posted many times but i wanna post it again. Im in love with planet coaster. My game of the year. I love how Frontier made this game so far.
But my question is, will there be a multiplayer/co-op mode in the future. On a lot of forums people ask why would you wanna have that. Its easy. Making a park together.
Share the fun and build on something amazing. I know this is meant to be a singleplayer game but why not adding this feature. If you guys maybe see there is a coop mod for roller coaster tycoon 2.
Its not perfect but its working out very well. Hope to see some reply's on what people think about this.

Tails out!

I would love this! Me and my friend love all sorts of coop games. We are thinking about making a park together. One of us start and build some and then save it to the workshop and the other dowload it and work on it and then the same procedure again. A bit of a hassle but it's fine for now =P

+1000 for multiplayer!

Cooperative building is so much more fun. A colleague of mine has been asking for the same and even PC gamer review mentions the lack of the feature:

PC gamer review said:
For instance, imagine having to compete against rival parks, or a co-operative multiplayer mode in which you and a friend build together and can separate out who looks after what.

I can only imagine popularity and average play time exploding, if the feature was added. ;)

I haven't seen any simulation games like this with Multiplayer / Co-op in the past, but have always thought it would be great for somebody to break the ice and just try the concept out. It wouldn't probably sit well to use a system with random people joining and possibly ruining your park just to grief, but for friends to join up on each other would be a pretty cool concept. I've had two different ideas for this so far:

1. Guest Mode - Simply have a person join from a lobby-like interface and let them walk around like an NPC to ride things, explore, and possibly have needs such as restroom, food or maybe rest. Almost like a survival mode where your quality of life depends on the park owners ability.

2. Co-op - Friends can join on each other via steam or an in-game lobby, decide among themselves who does what whether its park management, economics, aesthetics, etc. Theres so much possible micro-management that I personally think could add to a fun Co-op experience. One person building roller coasters could concentrate on the design of the coaster, and another person can focus on placing surrounding decor around the coaster itself.

3. Observer - Simple observer mode. Same camera options as the park creator, just without the same UI. Maybe some observer tools or something.

I really hope the devs will at some point say IF this would be possible.

Im assuming this right now is something far in the future IF it's even possible. The synching would be immense. This game already struggles on the best computers in offline singleplayer mode, imagine how it would react if it had to synch with 2 or even more players over a network.

Now don't get me wrong I would also love this since I love OpenRCT2 multiplayer. I can only dream about OpenPlanetCoaster multiplayer. But right now I think it's technically impossible.

But that's why I would love a dev statement about this. Maybe they can tell us once and for all what they think of it and if it would be possible right now or maybe 1 to 5 years from now

We can dream...

Can almost guarantee it'll never happen because it'd be insanely complex, but I've always wanted it. I've learnt from OpenRCT2 that there's something strangely enjoyable about simply editing the same map at he same time.

+1
me and my girlfriend are also playing planet coaster, each of us building their own park - we both love the game, but building one park together would be so awesome :)
