Multiplayer is too limited - There is no interaction apart from PvP - Game gets boring

I'm now playing since many weeks, beta and alpha etc... the game is great and I see a lot of potential, but it is a pity that it has been released with a soo poor implementiation of player player interaction, apart from PvP fight after interdiction or in defined locations.

I'm used to play with my brother or friends, I found quite frustrating being able to do anything together apart from mining or engaging together at beacon or mining points.

It is impossible to interdict together, it is imposssibl to do missions together, it is impossible to flight together as one, defend each other, kill together.
Since this is supposed to be one of the main aspects of the game, it is terribly frustrating going around together with your buddyes but being unable to do anything in a cooperative way.
And to be honest also the solo part of the game is quite lame, the AI is incredibly dumb, I'm able to kill everyone with an average eagle.

Just to mension an example, yesterday playing with my brother as usual, we decided at least to try to hunt some pirates together, there is really nothing else to do. Interdicting together is impossible so we deicded that one of us could interdict and the other enter the wave to join the combact.
First attempt, after I interdict my brother enters the wave but he ends up in an open space with no one around (this actually happened us many other times when we tried later).
Second attempt I join him entering the wave after he interdicted a pirate. What happens next is that we end up in the same space region, we could see each other, but the actual pirate duplicated himself appearing as two different pirates in the two "space instances" where we two belonged (each one of us could see only his own instance of the pirate).

After having the last experience I really felt like I had to write something on the forum, this is a beautiful game but people are getting so much frustrated that the initial hype will die soon and the servers will endup being empty in 4 months.
 
To the OP, I agree with you, but Frontier have plans afoot to improve things, and as I understand it there are signs that the beta process for the 1.1 update could be undertaken by anyone, so you'll be able to test and ultimately benefit from the changes which are alleged to be multiplayer comprised.

I believe Frontier felt the game had to ship by the 16th December 2014, and despite in my opinion it felt like a reasonably polished release, certain aspects to it were incomplete and multiplayer was definitely one of them.

I've got a friend who hasn't bothered playing despite pre-ordering, as he is just waiting so he and I can play co-operatively (it hasn't stopped me though!).

Have you joined a group? A few of us in the Mercs of Mikunn have had some success at multi-player PvE (and in one case, multi-player PvP - going after a guy in an Asp targeting us individually).

We were doing the jump into the low energy FSD wake, and would sometimes get the same bug you got, but most of the time it worked. We'd also go into extraction sites together to attack enemy miners, go into security check points for some strikes on nav beacons and security and defense force ships, etc.

It can be buggy, but it can also work. Either way, it'll get better - especially when the Wings stuff comes out. So hang in there.
 
Problem is that we are waiting too long to have a decent multiplayer on a multiplayer based game!

We need ASAP at least:
Wing play (fly together, jump together, fight together).
Shared economy with a storage, being able to store goods, influence economy, GIVE CREDITS to CMDrs.
Shared missions, come on this is easy, select CMDr to share the mission with, share the credits when is done (and come on introduce variety).

And come on make it harder, or at least make 3-4 pirates being able to interdict you together when you are at least novice and so on.... I'm really sick of being able to fight against 5 federal ship elite and killing them with a stupid anaconda.

A REALLY IMPORTANT ONE:
Getting benefits by being part of a group, like discounts when buying ships, weapons, goods at the market. In this way we would feel encouraged to protect that group etc...
Feeling more like part of a faction: being unable to flight without a problem in a federal space and vice versa after helping another faction (this already happens but takes time).

Economy and manufacturing:
We really need to be able to participate in the economy at a deeper level, mining industry, possibility to increase crafting based on supply of materials, owning stations etc...

Be able to alter history:
Should be easier, there should be news related to assoults from players to stations, sectors, in general being on the news for CMDrs would be cool.

A lot of other changes.

I will not play anymore until march.

Makes no sense to get bored with the actual state of the game, there is no way to have a decent multiplayer experience.

I'm also quite sure when I will be back to play in 2 months, half the players will have dropped elite and will be playing something else.

Got bored of waiting for a complete game, you got a lot of money from us, hire double the developers, finish the game and give us a decent product!

...sigh, I like so much the potential of this game.

Their is no open-server eco system.

No balance between PVP / PVE

No risk / reward balance. It's either all grief, or all trade spam.

Kinda of annoying for a player-driven (albeit AI heavy) sandbox. Where all you can do is gank people in open and they call it "good enough"
