Multiple Avatars on the Bridge

I have the HCA voice packs with several crew members assigned to their stations. I see in Horizons, you can craft several different crew Avatars, but can only use one in the commanders seat.
In my ship (Python) it would be great if I could see a crew mate in the right hand seat. Perhaps even some additional crew members on the Bridge. I have Astra as my number one, it would be nice to see her on my right!😍
Perhaps when/if the "walk around" feature gets implemented, we can have more crew members on the bridge? The avatar crafting mode in Horizons must have taken a lot of coding. It seems a shame just to use it on one commander?
Cheers!

There's always multicrew ;)

But yep, fingers crossed for more NPC activity in 2020 :)

If one of those seats are not assigned to our Fighter Pilot NPC's, then we must accept that our Fighter Pilot NPC's are not actually aboard our ships, and therefor should not be killed when our ships are lost, and thus the NPC Fighter Pilot systems must be reworked to compensate for this. There's going to be a lot of people with 3 crew and 29 reserve crew on standby.... OR... show us our Crew on our Bridges so we know that they are with us.

And then still give us a means to rescue lost crew. We spend far too much time training them and far too many credits paying them to simply lose them.

Fascinating! I haven't got around to using the fighter yet. I didn't know you had to pay the pilot, yet alone train them? There is a lot of depth to ED/Horizons! I am s returnee after a long lay off from the game.
It would be logical to see all the crew seats filled with the avatars. I was looking at the Type 10 Defender? Lots of crew positions on that ship.😉

Multicrew FTW..

but on a serious note... on the larger ships you should have to employ crew to help run it...
which would cost you a cut in any profit made using the ship...

Am I missing something? How did you get the second avatar in the right hand seat? I can only put the selected avatar in the left seat?
Yes it's logical to have to pay a crew. But HCA Voice packs crewmenbers, Astra especially, say they are AI "Data" like beings. As such they wouldn't require payment as such. Maybe just company and conversation?😉
Cheers.

that was a screenshot of a multicrew session - the other commander sits in your spare seat

Aha! You were playing with a multicrew shipmate. Thanks that explains it.
FD should add that feature to the Avatar "Holo" image crewmember. It's a nice piece of programming. The way you can alter the face/body types is amazing and must have been quite a bit of coding?

Fighter pilots are physically on your ship and use a station in your cargo hold. This has been stated a few times by FDEV (DB mentioned it a few times on livestreams).

This is the other technology hickup with ED: not only do ships still need Humans with joysticks to fly them, Humans still need glasses.

When FDEV released NPC multicrew I expected to see them in the cockpit. I was surprised when I learned it's not so. Very lazy design I have to say

I only get 155fps inside the station with ultra settings. To many polygons spoils the fps. It bad enough taking a fps hit with bobbleheads, but lots of holo-me'z sounds like an fps nightmare.

I think they could implement a second/third Holo Avatar. They spent a lot of programming effort to provide our own facsimile pilot, seems a shame to not have a full crew. It all adds to the suspension of disbelief! It's up to you if you want to have them displayed or not. I wouldn't think there would be much of a performance hit, since we only gawp at ourselves infrequently.🤭
As for FPS, I always see smooth, judder free graphics in ED. Compared to the mess FSX/P3d produces when flying over autogen!
