I have read around (almost a year now) many things and ideas about having the ability to create more than one commanders.
I will not go into discussing (that is not the point) other opinions. Also lets make clear that yes I did a quick search about a similar idea but it is difficult to find
something like that in a forum so... here goes.
I would suggest the creation of a system that allows the user (store account) to buy more than once the game for use. That will create a "New Commander" button to appear in the game as many times as the user has bought the game. If the user already has many commanders then he can click a "Change Commander" button of sorts in the main menu and play with "whoever" he wants. If a commander is reset then the "New Commander" comes back, etc.
Before people come out hunting me and trying to burn me at the stake about being able to give stuff between commanders etc. That is not really possible! The game does not support active trading as of now! Even if trading was a thing a person needs to return to the main menu to get in with a new commander so once more.... safe!
And for some reasoning. I have many times thought of actually buying the game a second time but it is too much trouble (for me, others have done it). Second account. You have to actually exit the game and log out and then log in with that other account at the launcher. Forget Steam! I would love to have a second (or even more) commander that I can use to play around with friends (case of long range exploration with main) or simply reset at each new season so I can experience the "magic" again.
To those who would like something like that for free. Well yeah me too! But Frontier is a company, companies like money, and they kind of actually need it to keep being companies!!!
So what I am suggesting, basically, is to actually make the lives of the people who would like and are willing to give even more money to this game just a bit easier!
