Multiple interdictions a pain

I have seen so many of these threads but finally have my own to add to the masses.

I logged on tonight with the sole purpose of handing in 1 mission. All I had to do was fly my T-7 8 ly and dock. To do this, all I did was plug in my joystick, I didn't even open voice attack on use track IR. I jump into the system and start cruising towards the port not 5 sec before I get interdicted. I submit and boost away dropping a few shock mines for good measure, well a couple of seeker missiles on my unshielded engines makes them malfunction and a second salvo knocks out my FSD. I manage to reboot and escape with 19% hull left. Now 12mm from port when I get interdicted again I hold it steady ignoring the escape vector and when I get to 1 mm I hit my FSD but it won't let me drop. A second later I get an FSD failure, probably from being so far off the vector and dropped. With the extra long FSD recharge I don't stand a chance and get destroyed.

So not complaining that I got blow up, part of the game and all that. Also my fault for sacrificing shields for cargo space. But the fact that I lost all my mined goods, second time in a week and have to restart the salvage missions I was doing really makes me mad. I only get an hour or two per week to spend on Elite anymore and the fact that we still don't have things like cargo insurance or NPCs that appear in space already knowing that you have the cargo they want. The second ship that interdicted me literally appeared from the station I was cruising to giving me zero chance of it not interdicting me.

I keep coming back to Elite because I love the concept of it. There are however some quality of life issues that need to be looked at. I'm not saying that the players that play more shouldn't profit more, but for the amount of time that I do play having a major setback once a week just because I only had 15 minutes to play and hand in a timed mission, I shouldn't have to deal with major hurtles. Yes dangerous and all that but not frustratingly so. I have been playing since release and never once used an exploit or even used the sothis type missions to make a fortune in a day, I'm lucky if I clear 1 mil a session. I'm not a casual player nor am I hardcore.

So here are the suggestions

Make pirates actually have to scan you before they attempt to interdict. If I pulled every ship that crossed my path without scanning, system authority would be all over me.

If I can still high wake during an interdiction, I should be able to drop out of super cruise if my destination and speed are within parameters.

Enough with the ridiculous time it takes to slow down when supercruising. If I am in the middle of nowhere, I can slow down from 50 C to 300 km/s in 2 seconds. If I approach a planet to fast I can't go from 12mm to 1mm in the same time? At least let us modify our accel/deccel with engineers, otherwise you can never outrun someone trying to interdict you. They will always be able to approach you faster as you slow down for the stations/planets.

If nothing else let us salvage our own wrecks, give me the opportunity to recover some of my lost goods. Create a semi permenant USS at the point of death that I or other players can drop into and pick up some of the goods that were in the hold.

And totally unrelated to my rant, let us store engineer commodities.

Yea. T7 and no shields? [squeeeee]

If you don't kill the pirate, and you are in a ship that wouldn't survive a second assault, always ALWAYS high-wake into another system. If you only escape into SC, they WILL be after you, again.

I like your suggestions, though.

This actually used to work. I'm not sure when it stoped working, but yeah, it's a pain in the butt. It's a partial victory to be able to get to the station with a pirate in tow.

It still works. Only you have to line up the target system and the escape vector. If you are sliding sideways somewhere, the FSD won't engage (or disengage)

That doesn't make sense to me. If I'm within drop parameters I should be able to drop, the escape vector for the interdiction shouldn't be a factor. I'm not trying to escape interdiction, I'm trying to drop into my target.

You can't.
1) You may be 90 degrees off-course. You have to move towards the target to drop on it.
2) You're going too fast.
