Multiple stations?

So...can you not have more than one station for a ride or am I missing something? I'm trying to make a train that drops guests off in a different section of the park (which is possible in planet coaster), but when building the tracks I can't connect the tracks from station 1 to the tracks from station 2.

Additional stations need to be part of the original track, ie. you don’t add a second station via the ride menu, but from within the first station/track menu. You can select to place either additional tracks or additional stations.

Paulsley has some helpful ride tutorials on YouTube.

This is something that bothers me every time I make a ride, since I would like to make all my stations line up to other things I already built (I am generally very picky about lining up buildings, paths, and enclosures) but currently I just have to try my best to build the rail towards where I want it in a way that it vaguely is in the space I wanted it to arrive. It would be great if they could make a way to group two separately built stations into one ride, and then allow you to build tracks between them, but I can understand that the system is likely heavily based on the coaster system from planet coaster (which I've not played) and coaster rides generally only have one on/off and your majority of theme park rides don't need multiple stations in several places, but in a zoo this is much more likely for transport systems. I can appreciate that making changes to existing systems is never as simple as it seems, and for a zoo game spending lots of time modifying ride mechanics is probably not the best use of resources, but if it ever did this I'd be one happy zoo builder.
