Multiple Thargoid Hyperdictions - Is this something new?

I was jumping around inside the bubble, testing my krait phantom explorer build. And my first ever Thargoid Hyperdiction happened. I assume that it progressed as normal up to a point.

My question is this: when one is hyperdicted, is it normal for there to be 4 interceptors (type unknown - no scanner and no clear visual) at the site of 1 hyperdiction? And is there meant to a be a blue-ish light that looks like the surface of a bubble? Sort of oil-on-water without the water.

I want to know if this is new. And if so - what does it mean?
I have no screenshots or video. But everything happened as I described.

OP, what you described is normal Thargoid Interceptor hyperdicting. The blue waves are an energy field that the Interceptors emit to disable your ship. The Interceptors look like red lollipops on your scanner. In person they look like green poinsettias. A Shutdown Field Neutralizer will neutralize the blue waves; use it when you hear your computer say "energy surge detected." Thargoids are a real hoot to kill.

P.S. During 7 jumps yesterday I was hyperdicted twice. That's unusual for me.

Just got hyperdicted too.

Certainly a new one for me, I tend to avoid Thargoids.

I had to leave the cockpit to clean out my flight suit...
