Murder, Wanted for 7 days .. why

Last saturday I was at a RES eating through a few targets when up popped fine .. wanted for murder of .,..
I was hitting a WANTED target that id KWS, no other targets flew through my beams
I waited 7 days paid the fine assumed i had clipped someone.

Today, same thing, same RES. I was 90% of my way through a python that was wanted. Bang
when he exploded I suddenly became wanted in that system for next 7 days. Again, no other
ships flew through my beams and at the time in that part of space it was just me and him.

Is anyone else seeing this ? For me, this is new behaviour dont know if its restricted to RES
or not but due to the 7 day thing it makes it worse.

Yes that happened to me also? Scanned as wanted, it even open up on me first, so I killed it and became wanted myself with a 6k bounty for murder?

Also happened to me.I was interdicted by a Fed ship.He started shooting at me so I retaliated and killed him.Then got the wanted for murder message even tho he started firing at me first.
Weird bug.

Same here, had at least 3 security ships shooting at the same target but when ship exploded I became wanted for murder.

Just to confirm. You did a regular scan first and ascertained they were wanted in the system you were in right? Only after that you did a KWS? You do know that killing someone who isn't wanted in the current system is a crime right?

That's normal. You know what "brat prokurora" means? It means "brother of the prosecutor".

So, that wanted python was "brat prokurora"

You sure it was wanted? Wasn't it just a <MISSION TARGET> red tag?

If you have multiple missions on the same system sometimes assassination mission targets spawn in RES too, and they aren't always wanted.

I made the same mistake once, its really easy to not notice the Wanted tag because the <MISSION TARGET> tag is red an all.

they were not mission targets it was just a single wanted python that the second it blew ... i got the fine for

i logged a ticket this afternoon and 2 hours later they cleared the 6k bounty

I think this is an ongoing bug they are trying to track down. I then swapped into my vultchie and no problem at all
at the same site. Later I will return with my conda and see if the issue is related to my ship ..... ie the bug could be
something to do with the ship etc etc dont know yet what I do know is that python was wanted on first scan, I then
KWSd his ass then ate through his shields and power supply until he blew. On his death I became wanted at that point.

Happened to me too. Killed a wanted ship, got bounty for murder.

My case maybe slightly different, as the wanted ship was a federal security force ship, that became wanted during the fight, probably for hitting the wrong ship by accident (friendly fire), possibly by hitting me, not that I noticed getting hit by it, but its a possibility.

In each instance if the target ship wasn't wanted, you'd have received a bounty for just shooting it, then murder on top of that. The fact you only got a bounty on your head after the destruction of the ship says bug to me.
