PvP MurderHobos bite the dust

They caught me outside of Jameson (again): Marty Whitehead and Andy Polaris. They hit me the first time a couple of weeks ago in my vett which caught me by surprise. Tonight I was in the cutter and not as surprised as the first time. I've been busy since the first encounter. I call them "murderhobos" since there's no attempt at roleplay on their part, its just a dirty grab and smack operation. They fly small cheap ships with no shields, plasma accelerators with target lock drop effect. Must have reverb torps/mines as well cuz my Shield Gen health was reduced. This encounter ended with them both popping in a cloud of smoke. I give them credit for sticking around to the end. Thanks for the adrenaline rush guys.[woah]

Why no shields?

Even though your quarry lost, this probably is still "name and shame", you'll probably be reminded of that several times on this thread :x

Im not one of this guys but i love small shieldless ships... why no shields? Because a small ship does not need shields, just hull & countermeasures

Well done!

Andy actually talked with me after he couldn't interdict me. I'm not sure about his age...might be a younger dude. In any case he seemed like a cool enough fellow after he realized he couldn't gank me.

I can never win the interdiction mini-game v.s. cmdrs. I just assume its impossible to win unless its a NPC.

It is WAY harder, but actually in this case I prevented the interdiction by circling in supercruise until he gave up (in a .... Type 6 I think). He didn't have the wingmate which would have killed that quick. I did later win an interdiction in a Dolphin vs. a Viper mk3 (the Dolphin is particularly good with decent yaw in supercruise plus very good pitch). In any case we stopped circling in supercruise and then chatted, haha. I was actually out to test my hull tank T6 build so I let him interdict after that (couldn't win in a T6), and tested my SR build (worked okay, but utility stuff like chaff blows up fast).

Edit: regards to trying to beat interdictions, I'm really not sure on the balance of it. It definitely feels like the game is in the aggressor's favor, but considering NPCs are TERRIBLE this may be psychology. And I only have a kb&mouse and am bad with those so not sure how feasible interdiction evading is. I feel like a skilled HOTAS pilot could do well, but only smaller ships, since most hobos are in FDLs, clippers or increasingly Vipers (???). I definitely could win in a Dolphin, sometimes, but some other CMDRs (an FDL comes to mine) I could not.

Depends on the ship too.

If I'm flying a Clipper I have a hell of time with the interdiction game. I find it orders of magnitude easier when I'm flying a FAS.

Yeah I'm still not SURE but I assume the interdicton game only cares about keeping the escape vector on-point. So really you're looking at the best supercruise profile ships to avoid. Unfortunately that's a non-existent stat.

This makes sense. Since I only get interdicted in the big 3 I don't stand a chance.
