"Museum" props

So, it's been suggested here amd there about having fake eggs and other false animal parts.

Well, something I've noticed in large zoos is that they have like a mini-museum, with things like feathers, eggs, shells, skeletons, etc.

I believe that it would be a neat concept to have something like this in PZ. In the Houston Zoo they have the trade shop, where you go and trade a natural object for points (rarer the object, more points), and then you use those points to exchange them for something like a megalodon tooth. But I go in just to look at all the neat stuff they have.

Anyways, it could add to the education rating to have things like these (although I guess people could make them in the workshop. But having actual single piece props would be better)

I think its a good idea! Especially if it was implied the objects were replicas or maybe naturally sourced. IMO it would be depressing if the items were implied to be actual dead animal parts and it wouldn't go with the theme of the game too well.

Of course. I should've clarified better. Yes, I was implying that they are replicas of animal parts, eggs, bones, etc.

Why would it be depressing? Animals die, we all know that. Why not let the remains of them be used in an educational way? Otherwise they would just be burned or similar.

To me it is more depressing to ignore the fact that all life comes to an end.

Don't know if it's against the rules to bump old topics, but I figured this is better than making completely new one of my own on the same topic.

But I would love to back this idea as well. Working on a "history themed" project myself lately and happening upon one great video of Zoo Tours I got inspired to seek out discussions on this.

I think there's so much potential in such an attraction and it could be a big part of a zoo, you know a bit of a filler in-between animal habitats like playgrounds, restaurants and in some cases even hotels.

And possibilities for scenery pieces are endless: plastic models, exhibition cases, taxidermy, whole fossils and/or fossil pieces (so maybe we can craft our own). Maybe it can be accompanied with exhibit update, because those would be perfect for museums.

Even animals that would come along in such scenery pack could be curious choices because there would be much freedom in picking.

If nothing watch this video of Zoo Tours and see how well this can be implemented in a zoo.

Actually, ironically this idea could work well with a Children's Zoo DLC, because I've noticed that children's zoos kinda have these little models and the like.
The Houston Zoo has a Swap Shop, where you trade in objects in the wild for points and you can use those points to get some cool stuff. The Swap Shop itself was kinda like a museum, with a giraffe skeleton (that someone somehow managed to acquire), fossils, and it had a couple of terrariums, too

Adding pieces like this to the game would definitely be a nice way for folks to "flesh out" sections by exhibits as well to add to theming, implied guest activities, etc. That would be really awesome! Individual bones, feathers, and little rocks - all flexicolor - coupled with larger skeletons, maybe "fur patches" and various shells. Books, a globe, a telescope, binoculars, etc. New shelf/glass case pieces would be awesome too! Could come with a new "museum tile" floor set and maybe a new souvenir shop.

And because I always bring this sort of thing up without being asked: This would be another really great example of what could be done with a "scenery-only" DLC. Imagine a cheaper-than-usual DLC pack without animals and ~75-100 scenery/decor items in this vein ("Natural History Decor" or something to that effect). No wall sets. Just props. Released in-between animal-only DLCs. At this stage in the games development, I am all for it!
