Introduction:
While Elite strives for a few career choices (Pirate, bounty hunter, trader, explorer etc ) there are many that have not been covered. this suggestion covers the aspect of 'Treasure Hunting' in a very Indiana Jones type aspect. Players will have the option to travel the galaxy for samples and items and sell them to exclusive markets for significantly more credits than usual.
Suggestion:
Across the Galaxy in select inhabited regions a new trade tab is available, this new option is what could considered a 'Specialised market' but for Role Play purposes we will classify them as such;
-Museums will be the clean location in which to sell all discovered artefacts such as some rare goods (like Sothis Gold) ,Biological samples, Thargoid and Guardian commodities and any other items of interest like gemstones and such. the idea is that museums will buy these items for a much larger price than any market available. making it worth while to travel to these destinations.
Item example price: Guardian Relic- 500,000cr
-Private Collectors will be the more illegal aspect of this trade, they will be more spread out than museums, and are willing to pay significantly more than what museums have to offer. however if security catch these underhanded transactions (Percentage of detection relies on security state, 0% for anarchy, 5% for low, 10% for medium and 20% for high) you will receive a very large fine and likely a wanted status as well. to offset this risk, Private collectors will pay a counter bonus for security risk, meaning the higher the security the higher the payout per item!
Example price: Guardian Relic- 1,500,000cr
-Science facilities will be ultra specialised markets dealing in specific item types, For example Ram Tah will only buy guardian artefacts, Palin only Thargoid, given the exclusivity of the items and their importance to research, this type of market buys for even more than the Museum market described (but still less than Private Collectors). These Science based markets come in the form of Guardian (Ram Tah), Thargoid (Palin), Xenobiological (exclusive for organisms added in the Ch4 Beyond update) and Geological ( A basic mined resources trade hub).
Example price: Guardian Relic 1,000,000cr
Conclusion:
This sort of market system will greatly expand on player role play as well as open opportunities for incredibly lucrative transactions.
