General / Off-Topic Music - BBC Music's "Biggest Weekend" - BBC coverage

So the festival season is here again...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/art...J/the-biggest-weekend-how-to-watch-and-listen

BBC Music has it's "Biggest Weekend" - and as well as the radio and TV coverage, there is a lot of streaming going on.

"It’s the absolute Biggest Weekend of music we’ve ever created and, from 120 hours of live-streams online, and all the megastars live on TV and radio, here’s everything you need to know so you won’t miss a thing."

Huge line-up - really going to mess with my E D bumper give-away. ;)

And I bet there is no metal whatsoever.

Generic pop trash.

"21.00 - Franz Ferdinand and Wolf Alice

Live from Titanic Slipway, Belfast, with a fantastic set from Scottish indie rockers Franz Ferdinand and British rockers Wolf Alice.

20.00 - Simple Minds and Chvrches

6 Music bring you an epic set from Scottish post-punk, art-rock veterans Simple Minds and fellow Scots Chvrches .........."

So not "metal" but ... have a look see if anything piques your interest, ah cannae be bothered to cut and paste any more. ;)

P.S. There is also Jazz, Classical and Folk - catch Julie Fowlis if you have never heard her (she comes from my home islands).

I mean, I'll let classical slide. That's pretty good. Jazz too, though I don't personally listen to it.

But seriously... Metal is direly unrepresented compared to the corporate trash that most people listen to.

I'm not talking about metal like Dragonforce or Iron Maiden.

I'm talking about the really heavy stuff. Stuff so black that just the thought of it is oppressive... Yet freeing.

No other genre makes you question the world like real metal.
