Music options

Hello everyone.. Just an open question out of interest.
Even though I like the ambient music.
I'm wondering how many people choose to turn the music off?. I do as I prefer just the sound effects.

For some reason I always prefer to turn music off in games. In Elite I have music in menu, galaxy map, exploration ON. Combat and the rest OFF.

I usually leave music on in games, only turn its volume down so it does not compromise other audio (speech and effects), but in Elite I decided to turn it off completely, it just didn't "fit the picture", somehow.

I agree. In this potentially high tense type of situation I wouldn't be pondering on which orchestral piece I would like to hear next..

I turn the music down so it's barely audible but still there that I can hear it.
Reasons are mainly so I can hear my friends in Teamspeak and also so I can hear my own music when I play it through the Steam overlay

LOL - I turn the game music off and load Songza in my browser in the background. I prefer to stay calm in the heat of battle...

I have sound effects on then either listen to the radio (5live) or put some music on (iPod + second set of speakers in room).
