Aeon I is amazing, also listen to Aeon II, III & IV if you have time. They've unfortunately not produced anything else besides these 4 tracks. :(

I've had exactly the same thoughts myself. Could be used so creatively with Elite. Elite' soundtrack is already awesome but they should keep improving. Ambient soundtracks fit so perfectly with all science fiction. I'd like to see more BSG style soundtracks for combat.
