Music to Explore to?

Greetings Commanders!

Jumps can get a bit tedious, especially when you're exploring the depths of space in and beyond the core. So to pass the time I listen to music.
So, I would love some recommendations! My only preference is that it enhances the Sci-Fi experience and acts as a kind of custom ED Sound Track.

If you have any music in mind that achieves this effect for you personally, please go ahead and post it below!
It might not enter the playlist but id still like to see the music you listen to. My playlist is below, enjoy!

Any category is fine if you feel it emphasizes the Sci-Fi experience for you.
I'm looking for any music that enhances the space travel experience - this is partly personal preference so post whatever music you feel suits the game! ;)

Thanks for your link! i will sift through some of these bands

An area I have a great interest in as a musician.

I come from a rock/metal background but have a fairly varied taste. If you're up for trying something a bit different give the album Altered State by Tesseract a go. That can be very immersive in its own way.

I have also come to love Infected Mushroom for my relatively short exploration trips, but I am not sure EDM is what you're after ;)

Ah i was wondering how long it would take to DJENT haha
Tesseract are a very interesting band, ive never thought to listen to them while playing ED - thanks!
I dont know Infected Mushroom and will check them out, if you can listen to heavy music check out Uneven Structure - Februus

thanks for the replies so far!

Ooh, I forgot...I love my Massive Attack and Aphex Twin for exploring. We have a vinyl player and a vinyl of mezzanine playing in the background with all the music from Elite cut off and the remaining sound effects going through the same speakers as the turntable is actually a bit magic.

This: https://ashterra.bandcamp.com/album/worlds-inside-the-worlds-2 contains a lot of the incidental music used in Space Engine.

This: https://stellardrone.bandcamp.com/album/light-years is about as perfect for space-themed music as you can get. Check out their other releases as well.

This: https://sergiowalgood.bandcamp.com/album/the-mind-and-space isn't too bad either.

Spend some time looking through Bandcamp for similar material and support indy releases.

Oh yes, and Soma FM as well - Soma Deep Space is about all the radio I ever listen to. Free to use, but worth a small subscription to help the team.

Greetings Commanders!

I am a member of Distant Worlds Expedition, and while i am enjoying it, the jumps can get a bit tedious when you cant find the time to have fun AND keep up with the fleet.
So to pass the time, when I'm not watching or reading something on the internet between FSD jumps, i am often listening to music.

I would love some recommendations for atmospheric/soundtrack music that makes the exploration experience more immersive and cinematic, as other than this style, i will of course be listening to my own tastes in bands.

Here are some personal examples of works i listen to sometimes while exploring:

INTERSTALLAR OST
STARWARS OST
CARBON BASED LIFEFORMS - INTERLOPER
SOLAR FIELDS - MOVEMENTS
HOLST - THE PLANETS
WATTER - THIS WORLD
BEETHOVEN - SYMPHONY NO.7

So, does anyone have any recommendations? preferably sound tracks or similar styled music that isn't too upbeat and has a sci-fi effect to it. Orchestral stuff is fine.

Thanks,
CMDR Clilverd

Space belongs to Mozart in my opinion. The beauty and majesty of space is only matched by a full orchestra playing with passion.
