After it was posted on here about replacing the original Music files in FFE I decided to have a play and do the same...

I replaced the Midi files with the originals where I could and hearing Ride of the Valkaries in it's original form really makes a difference so does Blue Danube. So as I said I replaced like for like where I could and had a great time, then i thought...Well it dosen't have to be the same does it?

So I tried AC/DC Highway to hell playing at certain points as well as a few others just for a bit of fun you understand. and then I started to think what songs/musi would go well in the game and when theywould be ost appropriate.

Any suggestions?

For me it would have to be ambient electronic. Rock and so forth is too distracting and grates on the nerves after not too long.

Agreed. I have all sorts of bizarre electro sitting on my hd which is perfect while playing FFE.

The only problem I have is getting the volumes right. If I have the sound up loud enough to hear the music I almost leap out of my seat when the attack warning goes off.

EDIT: Of course, you're talking about changing the in-game music, not having music playing in the background. Duh!

Yeah, I went though a long phase without any music..but once I changed the files I found I enjoyed it again.

I fiddle around with the music and fx in general. I've taken out the hyperspace sound 'cos it gets on my nerves and for a while took the battle alert noise out as well, for the same reason

As far as the music goes, the only one I've always kept in-game is The Blue Danube when I'm docking

2001 What a fim, it's started to date a bit now, but it's still a great film.
