Very nice :D. The scaling on the trumpets seems in a very minor key where as in the original it sounds like a major chord. but overall excellent

Thanks for listening PacalB and Listeri69!

It's interesting what you said about the original sounding more major, because in the original there featured hardly any thirds musically speaking, it was all roots and fifths (apart from the secondary section), and it is usually thirds that can most strongly give a major or minor feel.

With my version I sometimes keep the open fifth feeling (no thirds), other times I use major thirds, but you're right I do use minor as well.

In the secondary section I use a mixture of major and minor for a nice sense of 'cosmic wonder'! ;)

The third section - the 'peril' theme if you like - is almost all minor until the end of the section.

Also... there's a quick reference to The Blue Danube in there. Did you spot it? :)

Anyway, thanks for listening!

Wow great rework. Its sounds grander now. Maybe a little (just a very little little) reverb over the main mix out of an fx processor could work wonders. Although too much could destroy the mix. But really great!:)

Any chance I can ask you how you created the file? Seems like so many people are having a go at remaking this classic too....

Thanks for the nice comments!

A nice way to score a chord to give it a 'magical/spacey' feel is to have it arpeggiated it in the high strings or winds and add an augmented fifth to the top of the run - I use it in the more tranquil moments of this piece, and Wrath of Khan was indeed full of it!

Listeri69... I use Cubase. I'm old fashioned so I do all the writing and orchestration in the Score Editor - with all the staves laid out as in a traditional full score manuscript. Then for the actual sound I use EWQL Symphony Orchestra Platinum (which plugs in to Cubase) - assigning the correct instrument to each of the staves in my score.

So glad people are enjoying this. :)

Thanks Psykokow, and everyone else who had a listen! :)

I forgot to say - Drew, glad you liked it, but it still doesn't top your piano rendition!! :)
