Mute Cruise Ships and other NPCs

Indeed, up until 3.3 this could be hidden. I can't understand why they "fixed" that. Make options to "hide" or "tab" local. I've lived most of my Elite career blissfully unaware of whats going on in local chat.

And while we're hiding spam nobody wants to see, how about throwing in the CANNOT USE THIS MODULE IN CURRENT MODE messages from the discovery/combat overlap!
I believe that was brought up during the beta for that patch - and ignored then, and since then.

Yes please, enough with the wedding barges, enough with the useless cruise ship messages, please. And if for some unknown reason FD think it's a cool idea (which it isn't), can we at least be allowed to disable it. Imagine this button in the options menu, miscellaneous section, Useless Messages - ON/OFF. I know which one i'd press. Add absolutely diddly squat to the game, some tortuous bit of code, an obviously high programmer left in to torment us all.

Either voice act the stuff with a mute toggle or eliminate it. 3303 and text chat. Give me a break.

Voice acting vs. text chat is not the rediculous thing (or "immuurshion" breaker) — it's the fact that the captain of a cruise ship is addressing his passengers over a system wide comms channel.

Changing it to voice acting doesn't make it any less absurd.
