Engineers my 2 cents

After being on vacation I used the last 3 days to play 2.1 and I think it´s basically a great patch, but it also needs some finetuning in my opinion.

To make it short:

- too much rare material grinding
- no storage means being forced to fly with stuff - leads to too many interdictions/fights. This is the biggest problem in my opinion - we need storage asap (either in parked ships, or at stations)
- too much negative effects on the engineers modifications - why are they called engineers if they don´t know what they do... (while I understand that we need some rng on the outcome, no question)
- looooong way to gain reputation - with 2 hours playtime a day I predict to have engineers on LVL 5 not before christmas...

yeah the storage thing is a real pain, could not finish my BH CG as i was being jumped all the time after being scanned. And the thing is im not going to finish upgrades any time soon so for the near future im limited to what i can do in game while carry around enige mats :/

I don't see this personally, what mods are you looking at specifically, maybe I've misinterpreted some of the values but from my perspective compared to say powerplay the engineer modifications are always a vast improvement with minimal downsides??

On your whole post I can't comment on the materials (still exploring since 2.0), storage is on the way afaik.
Also a quick did you know for the last point - You can rep up with Engineers without even building a mod. Simply do the activity they fit the most. For example ten mil of exploration data can get Farseer to rank 5 (I read this somewhere but the exact number may be different)
