My ASP won't boost ?? :(

Hi guys

Kitted out an ASP for some exploring now we have the funky 1000LY plotter .

Followed Nutters advice on modules to maximise things as best I could however find that I can't boost ???

Assuming this is to do with the power stuff .......tbh I still havent got my head around the whole Class/Sizes thing  Tried swapping a few things around whilst trying to maintain long jump range and still struggling.

I currently have Power Plant D5, Power Dist D1. Available power is 15+, Deployed is 8-ish

Any advice appreciated. I got interdicted last night about 150LY out and struggled without boost to escape getting spanked :(

Yep - Your power Dis does not have a big enough capacitor, check out the guide again ;)

If your underpowered you should see notification when you try to do something.

Check your modules panel just in case. Make sure everything is on. From your post it doesnt sound like your gear is down (unless you've done it accidentally)

Unbind and rebind your boost. All I can think of

EDIT: Lol I suck, this is what you get for being in deep space when patches deploy :)

Asp should be at least a C rating preferably A. A5 power plant, A3 Power Distributor. Have you got your pips all set to engines?

Lol Ninja'd

Probably not this, but ensure you haven't unmapped the button by accident. I was mapping a button last night and must have hit the scroll wheel by accident, which removed my accelerator.

Thanks guys

Sounds like Power Dist needs upgrade then. Some shopping around needed then before I head out again

No ...landing gear wasn't down. Getting the 'insufficient capacitor blah blah' message when I try to boost.

As many have already said here, the D1 Power Distibutor was the Problem. With a D3 ist should work fine.

But I for the Power Plant, I would always strongly recommend to take the lower class A Variant instead of the Higher Class D Variant.
The 5D weights 8 tons, has a Power of 15.3 MW and a Heat Efficiency of D
The 4A weights only 5 tons, has a Power of 15.6 MW and a Heat Effciency of B

So The 4A is in every part better then the 5D (except the price). Same is valid for 4D vs 3A and 3D vs 2A.

Especcially the better heat efficiency of the A-Variants are a valuable part during exploration, because you can jump earlier and boost longer when interdicted.

It is correct, that the D-Variants are in most cases the lightest parts, but with the Power Plants you are always better wth the lower class A instead of higher class D.

Thanks ! Very interesting. Like I say I really haven't got my head around the whole class/size minefield. I dont have a huge amount of time to invest in the finer details so glad some of you guys can dish out the advice. Cheers
