by my calculation you should be able to fit 160 tons in that ship, 192 if you drop the shields. how and when passengers get implemented i may revisit this ship.

What's the maximum jump range it can achieve? Is it viable as an exploration vessel? (With viable being defined as at least as good as a Cobra.)

oh ok.
well i have the 5 million fsa now in. and can jump 25 ly. but there are a lot of cargo in it. so i think it will be 30 till 35 with nothing in

25Ly without cargo is already fine enough for me, but the higher the better. I've got an idea for an exploration mission "Imperial Style" and am thinking about using a Clipper for the time being (until a Cobra-sized, exploration-viable ship from Imperial Gutamaya is available).

yes but wihtout the cargo holds i think it will get to 30 maybe higher. i mean i have storage for 240 cargo this is heavy

Don't forget for max jump range ditch it's fuel tank for the smallest and load a fuel scoop.

Also for the price you pay for the orca you'd think you'd get more than loaned pulse lasers

im only talking abotu the clipper

What FSD have you got installed on your Clipper?

The Clipper is my favorite ship by far, the only big issue is the tiny fuel tank. The ship is huge yet has a 16T tank, range becomes severely limited , I had to buy the most expensive fuel scoop just to get around my 400LY+ rare good trade circuits. Compared to my Type-7 I am constantly refueling this ship.

I can see explorers easily getting trapped in regions with no stars capable of scooping. I hoped the Orca would be a long range passenger liner, the ship is heavier than the Clipper and yet also has the same small fuel tank :/

the imperial clipper is a very nice fighting and trading ship.

but my question is for what purpose is the orca.

i mean max cargo is 96. but for that price it is much too expensive

you were saying again? :p

i put the orca pictures up because of that. line and the calculations i ran were for the Orca, it can hold more then the 98 you initially stated over all tho, the clipper is a better ship, no question there. i think the cargo on it is a bit OP, particularly compared to the federal drop ship and i would not be surprised to see it reduced like the asp has been but thats only speculation on my part :)
