My bad day.

I am quite new to the game ( I have owned it for ages but only started playing around Christmas time).
Anyway after a bit of a grind I managed to acquire enough credits to buy a beluga liner.
I didn't even get it out of the station.
I launched, as I was flying to the exit a liner started coming in, so I got out of the way (obviously). Tried again and a type9 started heading in so again I got out of the way. Next thing I know a loitering timer started, oh ........ . I went for the exit, got out of the door and bang I got destroyed. I didn't have enough credits for the insurance (lesson learned). So 84 million hard earned credits gone in a flash. I very nearly rage quit. Next day I thought to myself no I will not accept that. Got into my sidewinder and earned 40 million in two hours. And today I am traveling 22 thousand lightyears in a dolphin. Loving this game.

Fair play op. I used to be good in a viper mk3, taking on npc anacondas, finally bought a python and promptly lost it to an npc interdiction (the shame). That was a punt to the jewels. I cried.

Welcome to ED.

You learned a harsh lesson there.
Don't fly without rebuy.

But 40mil in 2 hours, in a Sidewinder?

Sheesh. Things have changed. Lol
Why do we even have credits again? :p

Rep for the attitude!
I'd say 'see you in space', but I'm currently trying to figure out what in the hell I'm supposed to do in ED these days. Lol
I have credits, I have all the ships I want, I've explored plenty enough...
BGS work, trading and mining feels too much like a job/community service. Lol

Aliens? Nah. They're just retaliating...

Flying around like a loon has lost its charm for now.

PvP? *Shudders* no thanks. People do PvP. I don't like people.
Technically that should be more reason to shoot at them, but apparently it isn't.

Annnnnd I'm waffling...

"Got into my sidewinder and earned 40 million in two hours."

Wow.. talk about easy mode...
Not judging you OP, but this sounds like a real design issue.

As Cosmic said, might as well remove credits from the system.

Anyway, glad you've been able to recover so quickly.
Personally, I think the station loitering system is way too harsh, especially under these circumstances.
Death penalty for flying slow is ridiculous enough, but one because you simply couldn't get out in time .. don't have the words for it (at least not any I'm allowed to type in here ).

Data missions. I am usually in the thunderbird system. I have 4 stations nearby and I just hop from one to the other collecting missons. Then make a delivery run to matsui upto 15 mil a run.

I have full allied status in the thunderbird system. That combined with a 300000Ls run usually pays anything from 500-700 thousand credits per mission.

Actually, 40m in a Sidewinder, in two hours is completely doable, under the right circumstances.

I wouldn't call it easy though... but it can be done.

Great post OP.

I've always said that in this game you have good days, bad days and some really bad days.

Great understanding of how to play the game OP.......... o7!

How?
Stacking a lot of data missions?

sounds like "road to riches". good for a one-time tour & may inspire exploration.

congrats OP for getting back on track. I lost 67 mill /w first clipper too. "nobuy /wo rebuy" doesn't seem to be truly learned for most until experiencing it the first time where it really hurts..
