My biggest wish for 2.2

I'd just like to say I love this game and understand that lots of people want to play it differently.

However - My biggest wish for 2.2 is a toggle for the silly immersion breaking Arcade game rank that is currently blazoned all over one of my primary displays.

Every time I look at that screen it sends a tiny shiver down my spine!!

Imagine MS Windows introducing a mandatory, always front, yellow box displaying your highest ever solitaire score - it's nonsense - and no-one really cares about solitaire anyway...

What is your biggest wish for 2.2?

I haven't had orbital lines on since who knows when, but I'd definitely turn that on. +1 vote for this.

I'd love it if Anti-aliasing got some attention in the engine.

Everything could look better - and would be a huge boon for VR users too.

Think there are issues with deferred rendering though so I certainly don't think it's just a quick job.


Oh and ring shadows!

Yes. Get rid of it, or make it toggle-able. Also, off ship storage for RNGineer commodities would be helpful too. I'm currently doing missions and carrying them is just like having a bullseye painted to my ship, so I sell them asap. It would make sense if I could stash them somewhere, for later use.

Perhaps I wasn't clear...

I want to get rid of the CQC ranking. Or at least be able to toggle it off as I (personally) believe it has as much relevance to the actual game as PacMan...

PacMan has no relevance to this game either... That is my point... These arcade games have no relevance... so I don't need to see my current score every time I glance right - that goes for PacMan and CQC...

But wow would I love to be able to play a little PacMan on one of my ship's displays while cruising 300,000 ls across a system from a nav beacon to an outpost at the other end of the system!

Right now I'd be happy with a release date for 2.2, a patch that applies correctly, the first time, and at least one of the 2.1 bugs fixed.

Clearly you should be able to pull up the original Elite on your right hand panel and play while you cruise.

2.2 is looking like a great update so far though. Frontier have done an excellent job adding new content and quality of life features to the game.

Disabling the external sounds and keeping only the sound of engines and weapons of my own ship, as it should be for realism purposes.
