My cheapo Hauler for exploring

So thought I'd post my build up on here and generally people I asked said my ship is too small/weak/no A rated scoop for exploring, but yet I'm almost 700LY from the bubble, found dozens upon dozens of unexplored planets and even systems for the last 300LY, using a 2mil fit Hauler!!

Here's the link: https://coriolis.io/outfit/hauler/0p3t3F0l3d3s3f2---2v3u2i2f.Iw19A===.Aw19A===

I plot route using "economical" so jumps are generally always the closest so scooping each system is only taking a few seconds, plus I scan the star during that time

Great i like small exploration ships, and its a nice hauler build

you could.. for 200k more once you have some a bit of scanning cash come back to the bubble and outfit an adder and take an SRV with you, Exploration becomes even more fun with option of landing and going out in the buggy :)

^^ i kept it as cheap and functional as possible

happy explorin!

I like your style :D. And it is certainly a nice build. I envy your jump range... ;).

^^ This comes close to what I was thinking about for my next explorer build, but then modded to the teeth in the hope to squeeze out some more jump range and the capability to shoot back when interdicted (nobody messes with my Adder !) :).

In real world, travelling is much more fun in a light backpack than with large suitcases - in many ways, gotta love small exploration ships.
I am always tinkering with the thought of building an exploration Adder (in fact almost did it, but the slow fuel scoop rate put me off). :)

Explorers all come in different shape and sizes. So what ever float your boat is fine with me.

Fly safe.

Nowadays I use a fairly heavily modified Python for my Exploration, she hits just under 30LY and is fairly well kitted out for all eventualities that may arise.

That said, most of my big forages out into the black were done in my first exploration ship build - which was a hauler. Most memorable was my first trip 1000 Ly out of the Bubble.

I still have her today, parked at my home station. I simply cannot and will not part with her. Great little ship for exploring for sure!

Enjoy and fly safe! o7

I built that adder for cheap, you can outfit it alot better for exploration closer to 4m credits.

its very manoeuvrable and its got its own charm in the looks department, some people hate it for the small cockpit view - yet are happy to go in an Anaconda where half the ship blocks the bottom half of the screen - short exploration i always take the Adder, but further afield i take my DBx - equally have small fuel scoops but then i can just look at the view in debug mode while i scoop, no rush to get there and after-all i need to get my pennies worth out of them skins!

i need to head out again soon...
