Community Event / Creation My Cobra Mk III Lego build

Hi All!

Wanted to share a build I did the last few evenings. All the parts (except the round 1x1s) are from classic Lego sets since I got all my bricks back from the cellar it was stored.
Did take some time to get the angles and techniques right but I´m quite happy with it now.

here it is:

the only thing I´m not too happy about is the Windshield, there is a modern one that would fit the model better I guess but it´s not in my collection.

the engine flaps can be opened or closed:

Interior View. You can see the cockpit, frameshift drive (red-left) and Hyperspace drive (blue-right). Storage bay with a few tons of cargo and my classic black space guy!

Cargo scoop can be deployed, tasty canisters of loot!

and offcourse you can deploy the hardpoints (badass class IV beam lasers)

Hope you enjoy the model! if anybody wants to build it, I´m more than glad to help. --- pffeeeeeewwwwww (insert spaceship sounds here) -- Happy flying!

The first pic of outside of Cobra was nice... the inside is awesome, well played.

Also, I have worked out that the scale of the Falcon and the Cobra are actually spot on....

OK, I made that last bit up..... but it cant be too far off....

Thank you guys!

Gelbrock: thanks for noticing the proportions. I also feel that they must be about right.

Rewatching sw:anh while building the cobra I had to laugh when Han Solo told Luke that the millennium falcon can go 1.5 times the speed of light. I couldn't stop thinking how boring a trade run must be with the falcon, no wonder they need space chess on board!

THIS IS EXCELLENT!

I never shout on the internet... but I couldn't hold myself back!

I was actually given the Millennium Falcon you have there as a Christmas prezzie...

Can you use the Lego builder software to recreate it and post instructions? Would be super cool if you could buy it as a set!

Edit: Lego Digital Designer is the name of the software... you can build sets and order the pieces:

Awesome creation and excellent work on the interior.
Can't get much better than Space Lego and Elite ... unless you're planning to build an anaconda next? :D

Shame I can only rep you once, but I may bump this thread as everyone needs to see this! Well done to CrazyH0rse for necro-ing ;)

Oh, I had not seen this before! Excellent work!

Really needs to put into that Lego Digital Designer thing. I'd be really tempted to order the necessary parts (with some colour changes). :)

Great work, and I second the LDD thing...

I totaly forgot about this thread! Shortly after I postet this one I started a new build for a better looking and "truer size" model.

LDD would be nice but I sadly have no time for that, I´m happy if I can find enough time to play E:D !!

Check out the new model. Top deck swings up to reveal cockpit and engine (wich I havent finished yet) it´s a stable and fully playable model. size is closer to the lego millenium falcon since the numbers I found suggested that the cobra is about as wide as the falcon is long.

Wow, now you *must* give us the instructions!

As alternative, you can provide your home address, so I can come there, sit quietly in a corner, and build an identical one. :D
