Hardware & Technical My custom Elite Dangerous throttle.

So, It is finished. I build it up. Got 8 axis, 112 keys + 2 shifts.
I spent couple of months on it, so now I`ll go fly.

Oh, my goodness! This is beyond amazing. :D
And I thought my X55 had enough buttons and switches.

Would you, maybe, care to describe the layout of main controls? It could be educational.
Also some details on interfacing with the PC, possibly?

Holy Throttles Batman! That's some mighty throttle, how could you possibly remember what did what? Love the brakes btw, you know you have to tell what they are for.. :)

Well It's easy to remember which button does what, because they all are labeled. :)

Plus there is a qwerty keyboard implemented to navigate through galaxy map.
+ some switches for language toggle, shadowplay recording enable. Buttons for screenshots and teamspeak. And more more more. :)
for now the brake lever actually is an axis. There is a hall sensor inside it and a magnet. In ED it currently disables assists. :)
also it has leds, indicating some basic functions like landing gear, scoop, silent running, asiists, rotational correction, etc. (mechanically through corresponding throttle switches.)
Actually when i just printed ED controls avialability when projected this and just make sure i got a switch for every function. :)
after that I added some other functions and in the end it came to this. :)

it runs on nJoy32 controller from VKB and MARS sencor on main throttle axis. :) and connects to a PC via single usb cable. :)

did you updated the joy sensor of your cougar (or what's left of it anyway :D) to a HALL sensor?

i would love the same usig the warthog joy (better joy imao + hall sensor)

TQS is way better as throttle tho

I got better. It`s on digital MARS sensors (throttle and Joystick) by VKB. It gives 0.02 degrees of a magnet field rotation sensitivity. ;-) And the brake lever uses hall sensor. ;-)

I'm using it with Black Mamba joystick with stick from cougar (stick is pretty same to warthog) and Mamba's mechanics and sensors are much better than those, installed in warthog. ;-)

It's the simple things.

The throttle mounted on a plate, and the use of smaller boxes rather than one enormous box; genius.

How's the setup powered?
