REGARDLESS of whatever button I set it to, the command does not work, anyone know of this happening before and any fix I might be able to try? Don't tell me to use another key because, as stated, it doesn't care what I set it to.

Have you tried a different keyboard?
Are you trying it whilst docked? Cycle next firegroup does not work when docked although for some reason cycle previous firegroup does.
Could it be you are in Explore mode and not Combat mode?
It should work in both modes.
Maybe the OP just forgot to set more than 1 firegroup in the right panel?
Probably this.
I had a major panic a while back with this when no weapons would come live when I pulled the trigger. I had one fire group with all the weapons but actually I had 2 groups where one only had a FSD Interdictor in it (hidden at the bottom). That took me about 10 minutes of messing around to find!
