My DK2 and ED start up on my rig....

Not sure if any of you will find this useful, but below are my steps to get started with my DK2 and ED....

My rig:-
Gigabyte Z-77 mobo
i5-3570k - 3.4 ghz o/cked to 4.2 ghz (H100 water cooled)
850w modular PSU
8 GB ram (DDR3 1600MHz, I think)
2 x 970s G1 Gaming (Drivers - 344.75)
3 x 22" Asus monitors
Onboard sound (I know, but no room for my sound card with 2 x gpus!)

First, after playing Arma 3 on triples last night, this is what I start with this morning.....






...and the NVidia Control panel looks something like.....





.....I then select "Maximise 3D performance....this disables 2 out of the three monitors - the Rift and my centre monitor are plugged into GPU 1.






....switch on the rift, making sure it is my primary monitor. For Physx, I change that to "Auto-select".....






...check the resolution and away we go :)




I use the shift+window key+arrow to move stuff off the DK2 screens, onto the main monitor in front of me....and use alt+tab to select certain programs.

This take a couple of mins, tops.................

..............I start Voiceattack (a must IMHO), clip on my mic, launch ED, put my DK2 on and I am off into the deep ranges of space.....ing awesome!! :D

Hey Nosh...

do do you use VA with speakers? Was wondering how good it would be as I like the volume cranked up pretty loud.
what do you do for a mic if not using a headset?

NICE!!! you might want to use those Display ports with the DK2.. DisplayPort Male to HDMI Female Adapter Cable

I use a tie-clip-on-mic - £8 from Maplins I think.

It does the trick - I am looking at how I can mount it on my DK2, but I use it for other gaming / Teamspeak etc.....

I also like volume up but SWMBO doesn't..... ;)

Is it better than HDMI into the graphics card?

Mmmmmmm - things is, I have mine working without any issues - DSR and super smooth....
