My DK2 is dead

Well not exactly dead, it just won't come online, am sure the news will make my girlfriend very happy ;)

Have logged a ticket, but will run it by you guy's, maybe someone has a solution.. Only change today was latest Nvidia drivers, did a system restore back to this morning.

I have been using this device without issue for 3 months. Over the last few days the device would occasionally drop out, I could rectify this by going into windows display and selecting Detect, the DK2 would appear as normal as a second monitor.

Today it dropped out and refused to come back online.

Some info.

Win7 64 bit - latest firmware. GTX 980, main screen connected fine, DK2 connected though the cables provided. not a single issue up until recently and nothing in my setup has changed.

Devices are plugged into the back of my PC, no hub and power supply is fine.

Orange light on the DK2 (Not flashing) Blue light flashes on for moment when I plug/unplug the camera.

Leads all look in good health and are detected when plugged/unplugged through USB.

Config utility simply says no device attached., and Win7 does not see it as a separate monitor.

Sounds like a dodgy HDMI cable. Try replacing it with a regular one and see what happens

Excuse my stupidity, but how can I change the HDMI cable? It's attached to the DK2

Off to do some research!

Edit - ok thanks, never knew I could detach that front panel.

DUDE, I owe you quite a few drinks :) It's working perfectly now!

If you look at the front of the DK2 where the cables attach, you can see a panel covering the connections. slide that up gently, and it will actually come off, showing some standard USB and HDMI plugs that the cables go into, so you can replace the cables without having to dismantle your DK2.

First off, open the enclosure on top of your dk2, check that both hdmi' are firmly attached in the sockets, close the enclosure.
Secondly, take both connectors out of the side of the camera, then reinsert them.
Thirdly, try to move both (computer end) USB cables to alternative ports. NB.The power draw to the DK2 USB has to be at least 500ma.
Lastly, reinstall the oculus drivers.

If all else fails, replace the hdmi cable connected to your dk2. Failing that, call oculus support.

Sweet!
Take some pics of your setup and send to oculus support. They may well send you a new one ;)
