My Elite SLF Pilot Seems To Have Lost Her Mojo

This lack of accuracy can be a real problem in CZs: suddenly, and for no apparent reason, everybody thinks you are an enemy target.
It's not my fault, of course.

Got back after a long break, and I was wondering why my Elite crew was suddenly so useless with a fixed beam Gu. Guess the problem has not been resolved.

Sad indeed. Seeing how Crew are useless for anything but SLF makes it even sadder.
Use Gimballed until it is never fixed. 🙄

I hired a NPC pilot some years ago, didn't find any real use, apart from sharing skill points and giving them a percentage of my income, regardless if they were in service or not, I really didn't have any use for them, so they were remaindered pretty quickly.
I've not looked back since...

Interesting. When I have been attacked while mining, my crew guy sometimes takes out the attackers before I have a chance to finish a Kill Warrant scan.
I have two Crew pilots. Something interesting I found was that each does better in different fighters. One seems to do a better job in a Tiapan. While the other seems to do well with the GU-97. When I put the first guy in the GU-97 he always has to drop off to save his armor. Never get that complaint from the other crew member. When he is in the Tiapan, he kicks ass. The other pilot kills things really fast in the GU-97 and never complains. Both are the same rank .

FDev need to add a new voice line for my SLF Pilot "Entering Thargoid caustic fart cloud", cos that's what she does, time and time again. She's fighting better than when this post was originally made, but she has no awareness of caustic clouds what so ever. She'll survive combat, then park in one lol. If I'd not trained her up from a total rookie, I'd have fire her by now. Back in the day, seeing how much better she got in combat as she levelled up was a joy. Now she's mediocre at best, not the angel of death she once was. Well, maybe she is, but it's her SLF's death she's incredibly skilled at.

Death clouds are incredibly frustrating in general, and super immersion breaking. You're fighting with half a dozen NPCs to kill a medusa, you finish it off, and they all just stop and sit in the caustic and die. Talk about breaking the suspension of disbelief.

NPCs should at least try to fly out of them, if not avoid them preemptively. And why on earth don't they have caustic sinks yet? EVERY ax fighter should have caustic sinks by default.

I keep my hired elite pilot around in case I ever need it. The only downside is the %10 hit on credits earned.

The last time I used the hired pilot, she always ran away from Thargoids, but that was a few years back.

I agree with the caustic sink thing.

But I’ve seen plenty of players fly straight into caustic clouds and ignore the damage until they go boom (myself included as a n00b🙋‍) unless someone pops a decon limpet on them.

Can you decon limpet your own SLF fighter if it's NPC pilot gets into trouble in a caustic cloud?

i rememberd this post to-day,funny just noticed my fighter missing target, never did before ,after fooling around with different ships settled for any gimbeld weapon on the fighter low fps of course but after all it is a drone but now its hitting the target, sry 2 years late but thought i would say it.lol 07 cmdrs

I guess the question would be how often is he missing the target?
DPS for best fixed is 44
DPS for best gimballed is 25
So, if he is missing all the time with fixed, it is a no brainer.
50% is also, better with gimballed.
But if he is only occasionally missing with the fixed, then it may still be a better weapon.

Also, I have to note, I have two pilots.
One does great in the GU-97, but sucks in a Taipan.
That is reversed for the other pilot.
