Engineers My Engineered Anaconda Explorer/Taxi Loadout

Here is my final Anaconda Explorer/Taxi Loadout. It has been tested a long time and i think it is a versatile build that can be both used as a taxi and and an explorer ship.

Main Statistics :

Speed : 251 / 335
FSD : 73.33 LY
Power : 21.84MJ
Shield : 482 MJ
Armor : 1347
Coriolis Build Link

Core Internal :

- A 5D Thrusters (Dirty Drive)(Stripped Down) coupled with an 5D Power Distributor (Engine Focused)(Super Conduits) allows to often boost in order to leave station faster and to prevent crash on planet surface ! (With Drag Drives experimental effect engine can go as fast as 262 / 350 for a cost of 0.09LY). With a 1D Power Distributor you would only gain 0.45LY...
- 4A Power Plant (Overcharged)(Thermal Spread). +0.06LY with strip down. Thermal Spread was chosen so ship heat less when close to stars.
- Sensor / Life Support D rated (Lightweight)

Maintenance :
- 7B Fuel Scoop (Shielded) : 7B rather than 7A for lesser rebuy cost.
- 2 6A Auto Field-Maintenance Unit : They can repair each other.
- 1 3D Repair Limpet Controller : The smallest and most efficient one in case of hull repair emergency.

Exploration :
- 6A FSD (Increased Range)(Mass Manager) + 5H Guardian FSD Booster
- Advanced Discovery Scanner
- Detailed Surface Scanner (Long Range)
- SRV for surface mining : Only 1 SRV as you can often repair while in surface.
- SLF for fun in canyon (+2.32LY without)

Protection :
- 4A Prismatic Shield (Enhanced Low Power)(Stripped Down) : This shield is reall helpfull to prevent crashing on planets with high gravity and is a good defense against enemies. +0.92LY with a 3D Stripped down Shield.
- LightWeight Hull (Heavy Duty)(Deep Plating) : Extra hull stength for no weight.
- Lightweight Point Defense : Only adds 0.01LY for better defense.

no.
What have you again 5D Thrusters in an Anaconda Taxi/Explorer ?

also, anaconda taxi? fuel is cheap, right? might aswell use a trailer [haha]
You don't understand the use of a ship with huge FSD jump range used as a taxi from one place to a farer one, in order to move there a ship with slow FSD capabilities ?
Combat ship are not the best jumping ship...

I have two separate ones.
My exploration build does 70ly max(w/ FSD booster) with 2x SLFs, 2x SRVs, 6A dirty/drag drives (boost to >400), various limpets, amfu, wake scanner, mining laser, and shields.
(Yes, also kitchen sink.)

My passenger build uses prismatics, chaff, PDT, boosters, 7A dirty/drag drives.
It's set up for VIPs right now and I don't use a fuel scoop typically.

I've never seen he need for a shielded scoop.
Have you actually lost one before?

The only drawback is power consumption and i have plenty of them. So why not ? :-D

You can run a smaller, lighter and/or more heat efficient power plant with lower draw.
I use low draw effects as much as possible.
My passenger build uses a 6A G5 armored PP, so I don't get it shot out quite so easily.
For exploration you can run a tougher, cooler plant for scooping, and/or save mass.

With a 3A PP i would only gain 0.26LY It's 26LY won every 100 jumps. Not much ! And then i would have to disable fuel scoop in order to activate AFM

My Anaconda stay under cooking limits and i can fill up a whole tank in one row.

Sure, it's probably inconsequential since you can't leverage that in all likelihood,
but so is engineering the scoop and going B rated.

As you can see from my build I go a different route entirely.
But if you want to min/max, creating extra power demands with no real benefit is generally not the way to go.

Nice build !

I optimised it here and you can gain +0.33LY with long range surface scanner in addition.

Hull with heavy duty deep plating. Many modules with strip down. Shield Enhance Low Power Grade.

Going B rated is for fewer rebuy cost. But i could sure buy a A rated one.

Well your priority is not FSD range as you A rate many things.
For Kruger's ships (Beluga Liner / Orca / Dolphin) this is what i have done too as boost speed is so good on those ship.

But if you want to min/max, creating extra power demands with no real benefit is generally not the way to go.
Well i tried to build the best confortable build with best jump range.

I didn't try to min/max completly, otherwise i would have got ride off the prismatic shield for something smaller. But it has saved my life so many times !

By your own admission below, neither is yours.
;)

I'm just talking ship builds.
I'm not telling you what to do.
It just seems like a strange thing to engineer and you asked why not, so I gave a couple of reasons.
Nothing more.

What have you again 5D Thrusters in an Anaconda Taxi/Explorer ?

nothing against. you asked if i liked it, i don't. i fly all my builds, including taxis and explorers, with the best thruster available, not negotiable and jump range be damned.

Combat ship are not the best jumping ship...

you're taking this too seriously. it's again preference and a bit of a joke (about the fuel, it is meaningless in the game). still a conda is overkill as a bubble taxi, and not very efficient: all the time in sc and station approaches counts too. get a dbx, build it light, give it decent thrust and you'll understand.

Yes, this seems to be my approach too... I want max A thrusters with DD5&Effect on all of my ships, damn the jump range. Currently the DBX or Asp are the taxi ones (60ly with FSD Booster and 490-510 m/s), but the Krait also has a light build and 42ly jump - 570 m/s. Never touched the Anaconda since the bulk passengers boom.
