Just hopping in to say I really love how tense the interdiction ambushes can be in this game!
I was flying towards Freeport, getting ready to drop off some Mineral Oil, when I got the Interdiction message. I'd been so used to interdictions being conducted by Federal police that I initially just sat there waiting for them to scan me. Hearing my ship tell me I was being attacked was my first warning sign, but I only really understood what I'd gotten into when some lasers whiffed past my ship.
Immediately I kicked into evasive maneuvers, and knowing that I was still seriously under-equipped, I followed the advice I'd seen here on the forums - full pips to engines, two pips to shields, hit the supercruise and stay on the evasive until it's charged up.
It's tense and almost movie-like seeing the warning that my Supercruise chargeup is being slowed down by a factor of 6 because of nearby masses. Trying my best to stay away from enemy lasers while quietly muttering "Come on, charge, charge!" under my breath. And then when the supercruise finally kicks in and I escape, it's the most wonderful feeling in the world.
(Even if I did mess up that awesome feeling by attempting to park backwards when I got back to Dahan Gate.)
Granted, I still need a lot of practice in space combat maneuvering, as both times I've been attacked so far, my ship's taken a beating and I've ended up losing some of my hard-earned profits on repairing my hull. It's still really awesome, though
