After some time of travelling I've finally reached a black hole!

This is a happy moment for my explorer career if you can guess.

I have yet to find one :-( , I have been to 800+ systems and keep looking but no luck yet. Are they found further out ? i am about 600 lt yrs from any base on the outer rings

There are many Black Holes within 1000ly of inhabited space. The closest is actually adjacent to an inhabited system in HIP 34707. My first was Mintaka about 1000ly out. I have since visited dozens on my trip to Sagittarius A*.

I did 5,000 LY towards the core before I found one. You'll find plenty and often close together, if you move a minimum 300 LY upwards from the standard 'plane'.

Where I was last week , 15k from Sol, every second or third jump was a BH.

You hit the "Body exclusion zone" where you can't move any closer than 150 KM.

Also, You overheat when you try to engage FSD to get out of there.
