General / Off-Topic My first Elite: Dangerous video, thoughts?

Hi,

Note: Since Frontier doesn't have a Media/Video forum thread section. So I thought of posting this here instead of the General Discussion where people will probably get mad at me.

So, yesterday I published by first Elite: Dangerous video on Xbox One to YouTube. But since my audience/subscribers of 1,744k people are mostly GTA V fans because I guess thats where I gained most of subscribers from. So most of them don't like my diverse channel, but I like it because I can keep the content fresh and not overdone like most channels with the same content. With that being said, I don't know how I did with my editing style with the video. In my video, I tried to give my invisible character some character/attitude when flying and I think its pretty awesome. Sadly, I do not have a beast of a computer to do heavy editing nor commentate over my videos. But I'm still planning on saving up for my computer build, and this has been a few years now and the money that I was saving for the build keeps getting low when I get money due to games coming out. :/ lol

Anyways, whats your thoughts on that video/editing style?

That was really good.

Interesting to see the screen freezes also happen in Xbox. I had a feeling it was Frontier's fault and not my ageing computer.

Yeah, it seems like an known issue on Xbox and they are trying to patch it. And thanks, anything to change or get better at (besides getting better at docking)? lol

I gave it a like because I know it's not easy making money from YT videos unless you have subscriber numbers in the 6 or 7 digits But IMO it needs a bit more "life" e.g. either audio commentary or more text commentary - take a look at the videos by Isinona they are enthralling because of the way he tells a story using just text commentary and gameplay.

Thanks for the like and actually no, I don't make any money from my YouTube videos. I actually clearly state this in my Channel Description..
- I make $0 on YouTube. I have no ad's on any of my videos, and I will not change that.
- I do YouTube for an enjoyment for others.

YouTube ad's and the networks you partner with are not worth the pennies and contract deals so I don't make anything from my videos. If I really need to, I would create a Patreon and have my loyal subscribers that watch all my content pay $1 instead of watching ad's personally. But yeah, thats funny how you mentioned him. Thats who I first started watching Elite: Dangerous it was Isinona. He or She is awesome at the game, the Smuggling video made me love his content.

Anyways, thanks for the feedback. I'll try to add more life to it. lol
