My first kill

I just bought my first gimballed burst laser and I made my first two kills.
This means one thing:
I suck using fixed weapons.
The worst damage I've inflicted to other ships has been making them laugh a lot.
Anybody else is unable to kill a fly with fixed weapons?

I am using the starter SW with one peashooter, and yeah, I can't hit anything unless its flying right at me, lol.

You had best get to super cruise to make those kills count.

My usual rate is 2, and die before completing the 3rd.
I've gotten to taking a 'time out' after the second one, and super cruising to make it save.

I had a big issue getting my targets when using the starter laser, but after slapping a secondary laser of equal power, and repeated efforts I've gotten much better at aiming and nowadays can snipe pretty well with the fixed weaponry (currently sitting at 59 kills to 25 deaths, with having recent 4 kill streaks averaging at 8 , (I had two kills until couple of days ago)

To hit my target with precision when using fixed weaponry, I combine all my thrusters to align to my target always orienting my self so I have quicker turning rate, use rudder to adjust aim sideways and keep managing power levels to and from engines. Seems to be doing the trick.

Now just have to figure out methods to escape or reposition.
