My first long exploration trip - with screenshots!

Hey guys, I am still fairly new to the Elite universe, and since I started I've always liked the idea to "boldly go" and see what I can find. My first 150k credits I actually made them on my starter Sidewinder, after buying a cheap fuel scoop with my starting credits.

With that money, I bought and kitted an eagle, did a bit more exploration. All basic scanners, mind you, but still managed to make a bit of money here and there.

I tried the Hauler and Adder, but re-sold them quickly. I decided I wanted to get a real exploration ship, so I bought a Viper, and did some bounty hunting until I was able to afford an ASP.

As of right now, I am about 5000ly away from Sol (my point of reference). I have found many things on my travels, and I intend to go a lot further than that. As of now, I intend to travel the circumference of our Galaxy, returning to civilization from the other side (only time will tell if I'll be able to travel that long, I may be looking at close to 100k + lys)

Here are some screenshots of my travels so far. They might be a bit disorganized. I am not very good at taking screenshots either.

On my way, I visited Elephant's Trunk Nebula, SADR Nebula, Cave Nebula, NGC 7822 Nebula, Pelican Nebula, and I am currently in Crescent Nebula.

Star systems, cool stars, stars with nebulas in background:

SADR Giant Star: It's so huge, I thought it needd its own section. Note the distance to the star in the cockpit screenshot.

Black Hole Fun: I got really close to one of these (~57km). Being my first black hole, I thought it was pretty daring!

That's it for now. I will add more screenshots as I go.

I have learned quite a lot during my exploration so, have any comments or questions? Feel free to ask :)

Enjoy the screenies!

Nice screen shots, you should probably visit Sagittarius A, any explorer worth his name goes there at sometime.
