My first, rebuy... (This playthrough)

Well, today it finally happened, I could see it coming but I tried my luck anyways.

Picture the situation.

I'm on my final mission run in Eurybia (none engineer related) I jump into the system and see a lone Commander near the star. I'm not daft, I know what is about to happen. Sure enough, he turns towards me to intercept, so I drop out of SC and boost while waiting for him to join me.

In the meantime I'm charging my FSD ready to jump back as soon as he does.

He drops in, and I jump out, YES, I got away and he wasted one missile.

Unfortunately, a mission target got me, I submit, boost away and jump again, I'm in an ASPX, no vulture is gonna get me!

I get to SC, I'm safe again...

Nope.

The CMDR has me again.

I submit, unfortunately right back to where the mission target was too.

I start spooling the drive, I'm mass locked so I boost again.

Big mistake, I should have started a high wake.

By the time I realise this it's too late, my shields are taken out by the npc, my thrusters are gone, I'm a sitting duck.

3 seconds later, I'm gone. My rear end is sore and I didn't even get a bus fare home...

Oh well.

Note to self...

High wake away, first opportunity I get next time.

Ouch. Yes, high waking is your main tool of evasion in these situations. By not having the "bus fare home" are you saying you don't have the rebuy covered?

Nah, plenty for the rebuy.

It was more a figure of speech having been quite royally rogered by the game, the commander (whom I'm assuming was "testing his missiles") and my own ineptitude for not high waking out lol.

Well done for surving so long with a mission target and Cmdr after you.
Hi wake is goood. I can see the temptation if both opponents are in the same normal space instance but you learnt the lesson for the ship your in.
