My fleet carrier won't let me board !

I can see it, I can navigate to it, I can even command it to move to another location. But when I appeoach to board, permission denied!

EDIT:
I think I figured it out; if your FC is in close enough in proximity to another Commander's FC one of you will get locked out! Mind, I was in a legal parking space at the time, yet I noticed just beyond my own permission-denied-FC, this;

I moved my FC to a different spot and voila, am onboard and having scotch whiskey!

Are you sure you aren't asking for permission from the other carrier? I did that, they are both on contacts, select yours, then move over to request docking.

I thought 1000km was the minimum distance. Interesting bug. Where you in a synchronised orbit, travelling at the same speed?

I've had another carrier 250km away and it stayed exactly the same distance. It was also listed first on the contacts, so it was easy to select the wrong carrier and be denied docking. You also hear both ATCs which can be confusing.

I've been wondering how close you can get them. For example, if as many people as possible parked around a very small moon.

Leaving an orbiting station going to a nearby planet where my fleet carrier is located and going to supercruise it often locks onto another fleet carrier. Something hopefully the Devs will fix. Arriving at my carrier using the standard approach procedures to an orbiting station targeting and requesting docking at less than 7.5KM away it always works even the rare times that I could see another carrier even when it gets crowded out there.

I guess the point is why can I see another carrier in my space? Maybe the Devs will fix this...while currently working a player purchasing a paint job for their carrier but currently cannot see it defaulting to stock grey in space. That is a real money selling paint jobs and probably has a priority with the Frontier department counting the income...

Regards

To be honest, I hope they just let you park carriers closer to each other - PVP folks would love it - they could have battles and just re-launch from their sides carrier if they get sploded, would make for some cool videos.

That's exactly what happened to me yesterday. The other carrier, which was 1000km apart, was the top entry in my contacts list, so naturally I tried to get docking permission several times before I took a closer look at the carrier names.
