My Franchise Zoo won't load anymore.

I've seen quite a few other posts like this, but seriously, they need to fix this!

My biggest Franchise zoo on which I've spent over 180 hours on, won't load anymore. Just endless loading screen...

It was only just fixed with the last update, because an endless stream of animals escaping and now this.

The always online thing is not great, but we accept it, but they really can't have things like this happening.

I'm super bummed, none of the other people got their zoo back so I'm not very happy at the moment. :-/

I feel you, had the same problem after the 1.1.0. update, but I got my franchise zoo back...

After disabling all possible overlays like Steam and Nvidia's Ansel, one of the saves from the day before loaded.

In case you are also a Nvidia User you can try to disable Ansel and try to load the last save before your most recent autosave.

Open Windows Explorer and head to
/ProgramFiles/Nvidia Corporation/Ansel and look for the "NvCameraConfiguration.exe". Open it.
At the bottom of the menu you'll find "NvCamera is currently.." set this to disabled.

This did the trick with my big franchise zoo. Hope this helps you, too.

Very kind of you to try and help, but sadly I don't have Ansel and I'm not sure what you mean with "Steam Overlay". So can't try this...

Your solution did make me test something, I tried to load my franchise zoo on a Planet zoo installed on my second game pc (for the wife) and it refuses to load on that one as well, so it's not something local, the file must be corrupted on their server.

They should really have an option to try an reload a previous save on their server if the last one is corrupted...

If you google „how to disable Steam Overlay“ there is a detailed description.
I also would recommend to disable Steam‘s cloud sync before trying to recover an unloadable save. Then ingame go to „my zoos“ and delete the most recent save of the specific zoo. Then load the zoo. This worked for me several times, but it’s on your own risk!

And all the save file/ zoos are locally saved, not on Frontier‘s server. There’s only a ‚connection‘ to their servers regarding the animals in franchise mode, everything else is just local.

HOWEVER, I can load an older savegame but if I save it, that file is corrupted also, so I guess I'm one step closer to a solution, but not quite there yet... 😞

Yes I tried this, to no avail. I guess I'll have to wait a bit and see if any of the devs reach out or perhaps a new update fixes this. In the meanwhile Maybe I'll try to move out 25 of my best animals to different franchise zoos...

Update After emptying my entire zoo, selling all the animals and taking 30 with me to a different zoo, the save is actually working again. Not sure if it's fixed because of the amount of time that passed, or because one of the animals was causing the corruption... But the save for this zoo works again :)
